Stunning Sunsets at Port Campbell
As we continued our journey along the legendary Great Ocean Road, the small town of Port Campbell beckoned as another must-visit destination. Known for its proximity to natural wonders like the Twelve Apostles, Port Campbell is a quaint coastal village that offers much more than just a pit stop for tourists. It was here that I discovered some of the most breathtaking sunsets that Victoria has to offer.
The town greeted us with its laid-back charm and welcoming locals, instantly making us feel at ease. The main street is lined with inviting cafes, artisan shops, and cosy accommodations, providing all the comforts one could ask for after a day of exploration. However, it was the natural beauty of Port Campbell that truly captured my heart.
The town's setting on a rugged coastline means that visitors are treated to spectacular views of the Southern Ocean, with its powerful waves and dramatic cliffs. As the day began to wane, I made my way to one of the scenic lookouts, joining a small crowd of fellow travellers and sunset enthusiasts. The atmosphere was serene, with an air of anticipation as the sun dipped lower in the sky.
As the magic hour approached, the sky transformed into a canvas of fiery reds, vibrant oranges, and soothing purples. The sun, a fiery orb, slowly melted into the horizon, casting a warm glow over the water and painting the remaining clouds with hues of gold and pink. The silhouettes of the few remaining stacks of the Twelve Apostles added a dramatic touch to the already picturesque scene, providing a stark contrast to the vibrant sky.
The experience was nothing short of mesmerising. Each sunset in Port Campbell seemed to tell a unique story, with the colours and cloud formations offering a different masterpiece every evening. It was a reminder of nature's unpredictable beauty and the simple joy of witnessing a day's end in such a majestic setting.
For those looking to capture the perfect shot, the town offers several vantage points that provide uninterrupted views of the sunset. However, the beauty of Port Campbell's sunsets is not just in the spectacle itself but in the tranquillity that descends upon the town. It's a time for reflection, a moment to appreciate the grandeur of our planet, and an opportunity to reconnect with nature.
Whether you're a photographer, a nature lover, or simply in search of a peaceful escape, the sunsets of Port Campbell promise an enchanting experience that encapsulates the raw beauty of Australia's...

Just when I was reeling in my 12” surf rod (there has been no bites on the rod for more than 10mins), feels like snag at first but it turned up to be a big fish “unknown” to me. The unknown object dragged my lines up to 200+m far, almost running out of line. I ended the tug of war with the fish off-hook, leaving my hook bended as attached photo.
Its real challenge and thankfully Im in one piece and no damage on my rod/reel. Im using a 20-30kg Shimano surf rod with...
