A trip that did not materialise brought out the unpleasant and profit minded nature of the establishment. At a time when the whole world is worrying about the immense destruction caused by multiple incidents caused by the bush-fires, there are people who value the room tariff more. We'd planned a 8 day trip along the Great Ocean Road this week. As bush fires intensified in NSW and Victoria, the 2 main routes connecting Sydney and Melbourne - Princess Highway and Hume highway had been disrupted and caution advises issued to residents and travelers. We had to cancel our trip at last minute; each of our 5 other hosts understood the situation and issued 100% refund of the booked amount. Loch Ard Motor Inn prefers to pocket the money, since 'things are fine in their area' Good Luck to them with this attitude! We stayed at the Loch Ard Motel Inn for the second time and we will definitely be returning there next year. At this time of year it is so peaceful and just a beautiful place to stay. Being right in the middle of the Main Street assures that you can walk to everything within minutes. Not that we had children but there were children staying there and they obviously enjoyed their time as there was plenty of laughter. The staff are so friendly and very polite, the rooms we have stayed in you cannot fault, spotlessly clean even when I opened the microwave door it smelt of fresh vanilla, beautiful. The view was amazing and the towels were lovely and soft. I could go on for hours but really do yourself a favour and go and stay a couple of nights and you will go back for sure. Good and convenient ROOMS: clean and spacious room with a small bathroom. The room is equipped with a mini-kitchen: there are fridge, microwave oven, toaster, teapot and tableware like plates, glasses, cutlery. Coffee and teabags are provided as well. Every room has a small terrace or a balcony if it’s located on the second floor. But majority of them are located on the ground floor. Our room as well and we had good view on the ocean bay. LOCATION: 10min drive to 12 Apostles, in front of the ocean bay. There are a pub/restaurant, cafes, grocery and liquor stores in a 3-5min walking distance. FACILITIES: good wi-fi, parking slot in front of your room. There is a reference book in your room with recommendations and directions where to go and what to do - super for planning your route.
