Wonderfully curated exhibit in the heart of Brisbane's CBD. The dedication of the volunteers to preserving this important point in Brisbane's is evident as each point captures the contribution of General MacArthur perfectly as well as capturing the shape and mood of our city during his occupation. The staff are also very knowledgeable and open to sharing their knowledge regarding his upbringing, contribution and achievements during his occupation! Well done 👏👏👏

I was delighted to find this museum, as it was unexpected in the centre of Brisbane. General Douglas MacArthur set-up the Allied HQ for the Pacific Campaign during WW2. The museum explores and explains the changes imposed on Brisbane by the demands of 750,000 allied troops billeted around the city. The museum is on the 8th floor, and compact but very interesting and worthwhile.

A dedicated group of volunteers run this great museum and are passionate about sharing the history of WWII, Brisbane, US and Australia relations, and General MacArthur. Thank you to Louis for walking us through the museum and to all the volunteers!

🇭🇲🇵🇬 Hearing about General McArthur from my dad as a child to staying in McArthur Chambers. And finally!!! Visiting the museum was and is the cherry on top.

Lots of informative reading, a couple of videos to watch and displays. I loved the newspaper articles and seeing how Brisbane was affected during WW2. A somber visit.

I'm glad there were other visitors too.

Cheers to the volunteers who care for and are the caretakers of Australia's war time history. A great group of gentlemen. God bless em.

The visit was a wonderful experience. Especially if like me you love to absorb as much information as possible on WW2 Pacific...

Today we visited the MacArthur Museum in Brisbane's CBD. Not only was it a fabulous museum, it was also a chance to sneak a peek into a building that was built in the late 1920's and early 1930's. And the first volunteer I met said to me " oh, he was right here, you've just missed him!" and I swear I smelled pipe tobacco. It's small touches like these where boutique museums really shine and volunteers make the visitor experience great. Too much info to take in on one visit so no doubt we'll be back and it's clear that they have more to share than their exhibition space allows. A truly unique slice of...

Really interesting museum, but what really makes it shine over the rest it’s the friendly and knowledgeable staff! I haven’t been in another museum where the people were so passionate about their job and passing out their knowledge! I learned a lot more than I expected when I walked in, it’s certainly a hidden gem in the city! I was lucky enough to hear many interesting stories from Mr. McShane he was very nice and even spent time suggesting me other places to visit within Australia, the ladies at the front desk were super nice as well. Great experience I would certainly recommend giving this...
