Went here as part of a group of 8 for lunch, I ordered the lunch special steak and paid $4 extra to replace the chips and salad with roast potato and broccolini, normally this is no additional cost to swap veggies/salad at other pubs. If that wasn't bad enough, when it came out, there was 1 tiny potato cut into 1/4 and 2 broccolini heads. Compared to the others who got the chips and salad, it was so empty. Giving credit where credit was due, the steak was cooked very nicely. However someone's steak came out 30 mins after the 7 other meals, and only when asked where it was (also adding the employee was very dismissive and didn't even respond to me when I asked where it was, just wrote some notes down and walked off). Then when the steak came out 5 mins later it was so undercooked it was almost blue (meant to be mid-rare). Everything seemed to just be expensive as well, I would not expect to pay $35 for a lunch deal steak with a Lemon Lime Bitters anywhere. Overall a below average experience. Pretty safe to say that we will not...

Do not come here to play the pokies! Last night, this woman was hogging multiple machines. She had two 'reserved' signs out while actively playing a third machine. When I removed one of the signs, she got angry at me. I told her that the maximum time to reserve a machine is only three minutes, which was clearly stated on the signs.

She was rude to me from the start, so when I spoke up, I responded rudely. She then went to complain to the staff. Of course, even though she was clearly in the wrong, they still took her side because she’s a regular. I explained that the machines had been sitting unused for over 15 minutes and no one was playing them. The staff member told me I should have approached him instead. Seriously? What a joke.

I wouldn’t even call her a lady. This Karen is blonde, around 5’2” or a bit taller, with super black eyebrows that looked painted on, a slim build, probably in her late 40s...

Come here often with coworkers for team lunches—it is undoubtedly one of the best pubs in the city for large groups in terms of atmosphere and price.

We usually order off the Lunch Special menu, ranging from $20 to $25 a person with options between a steak, fish, chicken schnitzel or parmi. Drinks are always top-notch and the staff are accommodating and quick with service.

Our team did have reservations about the food—namely that the chips were too soggy, and that the salad dressing was not great. This however, comes down to personal taste, and the general consensus is that the food is decent.

Overall, the Embassy will remain our go-to spot for team lunches. Nowhere else in the city offers what it does. Its great service, atmosphere, location and price will always keep us...

I ate here yesterday and it was fantastic. So good that I came back today to order the same meal. Yesterday the Broccolini was awesome. I'm not a big greens eater and often leave it but yesterday it was so good, I ate it all first. Today however it wasn't as good. Broccolini was just Broccolini. I don't know if there was a different chef or something but it wasn't as good. My meal wasn't as hot as I would have liked it even though it came out quickly. The steak was good but nothing to write. I'm writing this for that exact reason, it wasn't that great the second day. Maybe I was just lucky on the first day. Your millage may vary. 👍🏻
