Night Markets — Attraction in Cairns City

When coming back from a tour to the Great Barrier Reef or just having strolled through town, the foodcourt is the place to go for excellent food and where you can still have a great value for the silly money you pay. Literally anyone should be able to find anything they like and fresh seafood looked almost never as enticing (apart from Sydney Fish market and the fishmonger in Newlyn Harbour in Cornwall, UK) and if you look around and notice the sizzling plates of other guests surrounding you, you can get a bigger appetite than your stomach can accommodate. You can have late lunch and late dinner and come back the next day to try other menu's or food stalls you did not try before.

Apart from that, the Night Market iself offers a number of shops that are cute and although catering for tourists, people have that Ozzie laid back style of helping you whilst you do not feel being ripped off there and then, you just got...

We arrived at about 5pm on a Sunday afternoon and almost nothing was open. However, I had an astrological reading and that was so fun. It's $35 for 15 mins and it's worth every cent. David (I think that was his name) made it such a wonderful experience. Highly recommended. Other than that, there were a few souvenir shops open but they were all selling basically the same thing. We ate dinner at the Thai restaurant (called “Thai”) in the Night Markets in Cairns. I ordered the big box (19.90$), and chose rice, black pepper tofu, green curry with tofu and vegetarian sweet potato noodles. When they asked if we wanted lids and we said no, they added a few more scoops of food. It was definitely one of the most value-for-money places we visited in Cairns.
