Taste of Thai — Restaurant in Cairns North

This is a thai restaurant inside the Cairns Lakes resort. But you can park at the reception area and still enjoy lunch or dinner here. We stayed at the resort and went here for dinner. I have eaten out at so many Thai outlets, including some very popular ones in Brisbane - and this one did not disappoint at all. Food here tasted a solid 9/10 (only because I think 10/10 has to be in Thailand somewhere 😅). Paw paw salad entree 10/10, Crispy Pork belly fried rice 9/10, Crispy Chicken Cashew Nut 9/10, Coconut panacotta 8/10). Very good customer service at the restaurant and even gave a little toy to keep our toddler engaged during meals. After a long hard slog at work, where nothing went right ... without breakfast or lunch and my usual Delivery Menu platform provider rejecting my credit cards *after updating payments) and being almost impossible when it comes to contacting for support and help, I gave in and signed up to Deliveroo and found Taste of Thai.

I ordered the Crispy Chicken with Cashew and steamed rice as it was listed as a customer favourite (and the photo looked nice).

The food arrived hot (helps if you tip the driver I guess) but better than that, it was perfectly cooked with a plentiful portion and full of thai flavours.. !

What a beautiful little spot! Don't let the location fool you, Taste of Thai was absolutely delicious. We loved it so much, we ended up going back a second time! The first night we had the wontons, crispy prawns, and pad see ew — everything was fresh, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly. We couldn’t stop thinking about it, so we went back to try the wontons again (they’re amazing!), plus the spring rolls, squid, and pad thai. It did not disappoint!
