HAVE to give it five stars...Was visiting here during a training session I had to go there AND find a Geocache as well.... The amazing way they're all stacked and colors and just sheer tenacity of such an awesome design. Such a fun monument to art The designer/builder stated "it took 3 years of planning, and once the go ahead was provided 12 weeks of continuous work to create the containbow. We first made two (2) structural arks, then proceeded to weld the structural beams through a total of nine (9) shipping containers. We then added shipping container profile sheets to the underside of each container and once complete painted each container a different colour. Despite the preparation time - we were able to erect in one (1) day. The structure has been provided several names from the community including 'containbow' and 'freorainbow'. A lot of time has been taken to make this public piece of art work...the structure is 10m tall"

This is a landmark art installation that is fun to see in Fremantle. It is located just off Canning Highway and overlooking Fremantle Port and is the work of Perth based artist Marcus Canning. Rainbow Container was installed in 2016. What you find are 9 recycled sea containers painted in the colours of a rainbow and attached to form a 9 metre tall arch, stretching 19 metres in length. You can park your vehicle in the lot down by the East St. Jetty and make the short 2-3 minute walk up to the grassy stretch alongside the road where you can see and take picture of the Rainbow Sea Container installation.

We have been driven and passed by this location a few times and saw the beautiful & colorful sea containers arranged in such a strange way but we didn't stopped by because we had to park far away to walk to the location. Yesterday, we had to drop by the Beach St Toilets, and we took the opportunity to walk up the concrete path to have a close look and to take some personal photos as well. It was beautiful and looked quite grand as we walked closer to it, and there were a few couples or families continually walking to the site.

Insta-worthy stop while on your way to Fremantle. Lovely place to click vibrant photos! These famous containers are right at the main road and you get a beautiful view of the East Fremantle Swan River. We visited on a Friday afternoon and thankfully had no photobombing visitors! 😝 Easy to get here from the city as well. Take the Mandurah line instead of the Fremantle line and a 910 from the Canning bridge- Stand 4 or directly a 910 from the city and it drops you right opposite to the amazing sculpture!

A landmark art sculpture it was meant to be but hey, the riot of pretty rainbow colours do make it worth a visit when you in or near Fremantle. Sunset is the best time to go IMO for those great shots. Parking at the Wharf downhill is abit steep at $1.60 per hour. I Guess you can do a picnic there under the shade of the containers in wintry season when there's sun. Love this place!

To get the fully advantage of cloudy sky of 5th feb, I decided to visit Freo and that rainbow container sight to get some clicks for myself. Things become awesome when a rainbow appeared in the sky and perfectly complemented the man-made a rainbow. Such an extraordinary coincidence. I love that place, and that click.
