Stayed in a two bedroom two storey apartment for 2 nights which was spacious, immaculately well-kept, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Exceptionally clean cooking ware (frying pan and microwave), could've been brand new which meant we were able to cook with a peace of mind. Beautiful red brick houses which were quite unique. Plus points for the environmentally sustainable shampoo and soap dispensers in the bathroom. Apartment units closer to the main street do inevitably get some noise because of the convenient location, but it wasn't too bad. Some points that could be improved on were that the water pressure in the showers were rather weak and bathroom doors did not have any locking mechanism.

Great price, great location. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect based on other reviews but I am beyond happy with the apartment. Spotless when it comes to cleanliness, the bathroom had super fluffy towels and the extras you want ( shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hair dryer, iron). Towels are changed daily. Kitchen was also spotless and had all the things you need to cook with and use to eat. Beds are firm (as I like) so if you like soft beds you won't be happy, sheets are crisp and fresh laundered. Nothing to complain about, would recommend to people looking for good , clean apartments without frills but with all you need set in a great location.

Visited in end of May 2025 Got free room upgrade. Glad we got this room, so big and nice. In terms of room facilities and quality, this was the best compared to other places we stayed during our trip in Melbourne and Great Ocean Road. Love the bed as it is firm enough (other places have bad bedding). This place is very clean, they have small fridge in the room, and microwave for share outside. Parking lot is huge. The area does not have a lot to see or visit tho. There are some smaller shops and a few restaurants.

To start with the negative, I wish whatever sounds like a generator would not run for periods late at night. I don't remember that from past visits although they were several years ago. It's happened too consistently throughout my stay, and too late we t night, for it to just be someone's vehicle. It's not necessarily even on this property, but when I'm in bed I'm not going to pull on clothes to go out and investigate what the heck is making the somewhat throbbing engine-like sound for long periods of time. The rubbish truck that comes down to empty the big bins is also noisy. Fortunately I've lived in pretty noisy inner city places for a long time now so I'm fairly used to such aural inconveniences.||||On the plus side, another good stay having not been able to return to Tas for some years. Room has everything I need. As soon as Dark Mofo dates were announced I booked a long stay. Probably the best price in town for what you get which could be termed an apartment but to me is a classic motel situation. A home away from home.||||Everything works. I've done some basic cooking in room. Some Foxtel channels included on the TV lineup. There's little-to-no servicing of room. If you stay a week or so you get one sheets change on an appointed day. I was surprised that didn't include towels - or even the teabags being topped up. However this isnt a complaint, it's just info for the reader. Personally I'm quite happy to be left alone and treat it like living at home. Don't need things changed when it's only just over a week here. Spent $3 on some teabags to make sure I didn't run out, but I'm sure if I had asked some more of the standard issue Bushells they would have provided.||||Oh I used the laundry. It's not really a guest laundry. You're using their laundry and need to talk to them so they'll let you use a machine between the continual loads of sheets etc being done. Got what I needed to be done. Don't have to pay extra for detergent. Payment is by card, if you seen anything mentioning coins it's out of date.||||As someone who is happy to walk and doesn't mind it being a little hilly (even central Hobart is up and down in most streets), the location is closer to the city centre than it may seem others, and even closer to the Salamanca area. In the other direction nearby are two supermarkets, along with various shops and food like pizza places. Closest decent bar, Preachers, is about 10 min walk.||||Whatever that engine or generator thing is seemed to stop or go quieter for a few mins then came back. And then another cycle like that. Currently...

The Bay Apartments are a good value but simple place to stay in Hobart. We stayed here for 1 night this week, in a 2 bedroom apartment.||The apartment was clean but small. It had an overpowering smell of cleaning products when we arrived but this dispersed during our stay. The bathroom is a traditional shower-over-bath, and there is a small living area and flat screen TV.||There is a small cooktop and sink, and a bar fridge. ||The apartments are a short walk to a large range of restaurants, a Woolworths and a Cole. There is also a pub (almost) next door. It is a short drive to Hobart CBD and there are public buses out the front.||We were apprehensive at first as it was quite noisy (noise from other guests and from the road), but this didn’t affect our sleep quality. There is parking outside the unit and one reverse cycle aircon unit in the living area.||Don’t expect a fancy property- this is a basic but well presented unit at an affordable price point, not a $300/nt property. If you set your expectations correctly this is a very good property. The stairways to the upstairs appartments are very narrow and it is difficult to carry large cases up and down.||I’d stay here again if looking for a basic stay in Hobart, but probably not for...

I stayed here in 2019 and was happy to return for 5 nights.|Very convenient location, although I did have a hire car, but was able to walk to Salamanca Markets and to Battery Point. Close to bus stop if needed.|Clean, good facilities.|It's on a main road, but that wasn't noticeable despite my apartment being close. Just a bit out of the city centre.|Unfortunately my holiday club could only get a 2 bedroom apartment (only needed a studio) for my dates - which meant that the 2 bedrooms were upstairs with bathroom downstairs...... I managed.|Nice to have oil heaters in the bedrooms.|Laundry is to be updated - still have to use coins for washing machines but planning for credit card pay system - was offered a clothes dryer for use rather than a clothes dryer machine - appreciated.|Staff were helpful...
