Solo Pasta & Pizza, owned by Francesco, is an outstanding restaurant that seamlessly combines the best of casual and fine dining. The food is simply delicious! Each dish is crafted with fresh ingredients, bursting with flavors that are both unique and satisfying. I can't help but praise the impeccable service provided by the friendly and efficient staff. The restaurant itself is in a great location, impeccably clean, and exudes a fantastic atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. It's a place where you'll never be disappointed!
What makes Solo even more special is the fascinating story behind it. Listening to Francesco share how he fell in love with a Tasmanian lady and made the bold move from Rome to Tasmania 25 years ago is truly inspiring. It's evident that his passion and dedication are reflected in every aspect of Solo. The food is an authentic blend of Italian flavors with the finest Tasmanian produce, resulting in a culinary experience that is truly remarkable.
I must mention the exceptional hospitality of Francesco, the boss himself. He went above and beyond by treating my kids double scoops of gelato and even offering me a delightful dessert liquor. It's these personal touches that truly make Solo stand out. If I were a local in Hobart or Tasmania, this would undoubtedly become my go-to spot. Unfortunately, I'm only here on holiday, but I assure you, Solo Pasta & Pizza has earned a solid 5/5 stars from me.
Franceso, this is noy my first time in Tasmania, but if I ever return to Tasmania, you and your team at Solo will be one of the reasons i do ๐. Thank you for creating such a memorable and enjoyable dining experience. Cheers to the entire team!

ย ย ย Read moreWe used to love this place but alas we will not go here again after an extremely disappointing special birthday dinner with our whole family present. We arrived early (5.30 pm) as it was Friday night and we fully understood that it would be busy but it was over the top. No social distancing at all and as hot as hell in there and so noisy! We were informed that we had to be finished by 7 which we also understood but after an hour of waiting for the slower than a snail waitress to take our orders we knew it was impossible to be done by then. We still hadn't had our orders taken even after people who arrived after us were receiving their meals. I guess they realized their mistake when some "on the house" garlic bread arrived for the table. Such a shame because we truly loved this place. When our food did arrive it wasn't up to it's usual standard either ๐
Thanks for your input Mr owner - there were no special dietry requests other than getting food for a 3 year old who wanted fish and chips (not too difficult in my opinion) and I advised when I booked that there were 7 adults and one child but who ever was on the other end of the phone assumed that it was a child requiring highchair! Whilst booking I spelt our surname but somehow your staff member managed to book under the name of Justine? Good thing I recognized my phone number! As for being rude to your staff I find that difficult to understand we are not in the habit of being rude to other human beings - I'm sorry if that happened I really don't understand why we would be rude so I guess I apologize on our behalf.
Oh and who was over exaggerating - we were a party of SEVEN adults a three year old and a newborn (who didn't need a chair obviously) NOT 9 or 11 as...
ย ย ย Read moreOk, so I'm a bit nervous about writing this review, as I really need to ensure that I capture the fact that this is, without any doubt, the best restaurant I've ever been to. We booked based on the reviews, and from the moment that we entered the premises, the owner came round and greeted each of us personally, and made us feel incredibly welcome and valued from the outset. We have extremely efficient, patient and friendly table service. For the quality of the food provided, the pricing was outstanding. It's not going to be a super cheap night out, but the value is in what your receive, and It's worth every cent. I ordered the pan fried ravioli with pulled pork shoulder. I swear to you, all the ingredients of this dish blended so perfectly that I was physically upset when the dish was over. It was absolutely amazing. I came with my wife, a friend, and we had 3 small children with us. One of the Chefs came over as we were waiting for our meal and brought a fishing magnetic game with him, and taught the children how to play it. After our meal, he came back over with balloons and marker pens. To say these guys were friendly was an understatement. I've never felt more welcomed and valued, to the point that I kinda felt sad when I was leaving. I'm seriously considering ditching all other restaurants in Hobart for the remainder of our stay, and just coming back here every night. I'd recommend you book, as it was pretty busy when we were there. This place is perfect for any occasion, is very family friendly, relaxed and casual dining, with a quality of food which is absolutely second to none. I could not possibly recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and try...
