Sisterhood has a great light decor with wicker trims and windows through to the back. Lots of seating options whether you you like to sit at front window bar and watch the world go by or sit more cosily with your friends chatting further in, even another glassed off section with a leafy decor. Really aesthetically presented.
My flat white was a little milkier than I'm used to but it didn't detract at all. As for the food... so actually delicious and tasty! I ordered a standard cafe staple poached eggs on toast, with some added bacon. It came out looking quite "typical" at first but was pleasantly surprised - so much tastier than basic, light herbs and the butter worked so well. Poaching was perfect.
My sister ordered the chicken burger and was pulling stupid omg that's good faces so I had to try a bit to see if she was just exaggerating and she was not. Stringy tasty cheese, beautifully spiced deep fried juicy chicken and pickles and slaw etc. All the flavour went so well together. Compliments to the cooks.
Minor stuff, mid to high range pricing, but the side extras are a bit too pricey to bring the basics up to a meal.
Service was good, polite, and direct, if a little snippy/no nonsense sounding. I would consider it an affectation and NOT an attitude. Owner is constantly taking care of business (maybe a little noisily), but still took time to chat, and is deservedly proud of her cafe and staff.

Read moreIn years past this was one of my go to brunch destinations. Sadly the service, and quality, have fallen substantially without a corresponding fall in price. In fact there is now a blanket 7.5% surcharge in place simply because it is a Saturday.
It took us 15 minutes to flag down a waitress to get a menu for us after we had been seated, and quite awhile before we were actually able to order. The food had key ingredients missing with no options for replacement within the meal (cheese in the avocado toast). We got our own water and flagged down another waiter from across the establishment to order 2nd coffees (despite being empty for over 30 minutes and trying to get staffs attention). 15 minutes later and the drinks had not been started, all our meals were finished, and staff were socialising.
The food was fine, although unremarkable. We had the vegan mushroom toastie, avo on toast, and the chicken waffle. No major complaints bar missing cheese in the avo. That said at price point Hobart has many other establishements that are currently much better quality for a lower price point.
Hopefully sisterhood reclaims it's old reputation, however I will be steering clear until I hear things...
Read morePet friendly - no. After being directed to a narrow lane, we snuck past multiple rubbish bins to a closed metal door with a picture of a paw mark. Had to take our two dogs in through the restaurant, navigating diners, prams and high chairs, to a bleak stone outdoor space of absolutely no character. Only one heater was working and that was directed to a table already seated. Our table, booked in advance, had not been cleared and readied. Admittedly it was not the nicest day to be outside but we had had to commit with $30 deposit. Had to ask for water for the dogs, reminded wait staff three times for our own water, and I was brought out the wrong wine. A wait person brought three meals out to a table for two who came in after us. Placed one meal in front of one of the couple only to come back to retrieve it a few minutes later! My eggs benedict lacked presentation but was OK. The Japanese omelette was as described -...
