I'm not a local but I really loved this bakery. A great coffee and muffin combo for about $7-$8. We visited this bakery everyday during lockdown because I enjoyed they're takeaway coffee so much (and it was only 500m away so part of our 'daily' exercise ;). Recommended but if you want a fancy interior maybe go elsewhere like Daci & Daci down the road.

Great place for a bit to eat really good food and cheapest you will find . Friendly service and good coffee make it a nice stop .

Sandy Bay Bakery and Café or as remember it, The Star Cake Shop is legendary for locals. This family run business makes honest fair with no BS, hype or spin. Whether you want some traditional shortbread biscuits or a custard tart, an apple turnover or a loaf of bread the boys have got you covered. Most memorable and my all-time favourite are their apple and blueberry pies which were I recall a great snack after school back in the day, and if they were sold out you didn’t hesitate you’d buy their apricot or apple pie, so good.

In fact I think Sandy Bay Bakery and Cafe is probably the only place you can still get an apricot pie in Australia, bloody fantastic. If you’re after hot food they’ve got steak pies chicken pies, curry pies, pepper steak pies and my favourite the savoury roll which is by far and above still the best of anywhere I’ve had in Australia, mind you they’re bloody hard to find anywhere else in Australia!

But if it’s a traditional fully loaded Aussie ham salad roll that you want these lads have definitely got you covered. There is plenty of bullshit when it comes to sandwiches and you’ll pay through the nose and get rubbish, but not these they’re bloody brilliant, the best traditional salad roll in...

Great friendly staff affordable traditional old school classic bakery:) This is a family business... not a food chain run by 15 year olds👌 This family delivers to the customers with the customer being priority no 1 Not a share holder insight👌 No fake trendy people to be seen👌 Fair prices like it used to be👌 You feel like you are welcomed and belong .... like you would with family👌 Again ,the pricing is such a relief and is run by honest heartfelt people who know what they are doing👌 Great Music piped through he sound system... classic 80's songs and not to loud:) Magazines and Newspapers to read which are supplied free to you while you enjoy your headspace👌 Plenty of room to sit inside and out👌 A Bakery lost in time... really good time with a great tempo👌 Thank you Sandy Bay...

Went here for a couple of salad boxes, quiche and takeaway teas a couple of days ago. The quiche and salad boxes were delicious. The tea wasn’t great - it was too milky and the cup was so hot you couldn’t hold it!

Anyway, the salad boxes were so good, we decided to go back the next day and ordered 4 more. However this time we got far less in them - no olives, avocado and generally less salad. It was really disappointing as they’re not cheap at $10 each. What made it worse was that they said they’d run out of wooden takeaway knives so we had to eat it with just a...
