Initially, my partner and I weren't at sandybay for this restaurant, but due to reasons, we had to search for another some other place to eat. We stumbled upon this place, and the food in the reviews looked so good, and I must say, it lived up to the expectations.
We ordered a fried rice dish, sweet and sour pork, braised pork belly, and sizzling Mongolian beef. I've been missing some Chinese dishes that I used to have, and this was it. It gave me that feeling of home.
The food is amazing, but my experience wasn't as good. We ordered through the QR code and waited for a very long time for the food to come. We had to ask the waitress for chili sauce twice because once we spoke with her, she walked away to another table to assist another table. Eventually, my partner had to walk to the front desk to ask. The table we sat at was tiny and almost hard to even move the chair back because we were sat by the window against the wall.
Overall, I would definitely come back for the food but will most likely book ahead to make sure we don't get seated at the small table. Hoping for a better experience next time as the food...

I visited Kirin Restaurant this week for the first time after reading a few reviews about pricing and quality. Overall, I found it to be a pleasant and reasonable experience.
The restaurant has a traditional feel, and although they ask you to order using a QR code, the system was entirely in Chinese and didn’t allow us to complete the payment — so we ended up paying directly at the counter. Not ideal, but manageable.
Aside from that, the service was good and the food was tasty. Considering how expensive everything is getting in Australia, I’d say their prices are fair and within the normal range.
I'm not a big fan of spicy food, but everything we ordered was well balanced and enjoyable. We were a group of four, we ate, had drinks, and left satisfied.
I’d definitely recommend Kirin Restaurant if you haven’t tried it yet — good food, decent prices, and a relaxed...
Read moreHorrible restaurant. Everything is premade, nothing is fresh. We had Spicy Fish, pancake and a draft beer.
The spicy fish is clearly just reheated, even the Basa tasted chewy, I have never been to a restaurant that can't make spicy fish, it is literally the easiest thing to make.
The pancake has an extremely thick layer of batter, filling is tiny. It didn't even taste freshly pan fried, more like microwaved.
Even the "Draft" beer was flat as f. Nothing draft about it at all, it tasted like a beer that's been opened and sat in the fridge for 2 days.
If you like sichuan food I would stay well clear from this restaurant, it's overall a bit cheaper, but the food quality is one of the worst I've ever had, not worth saving a couple of...
