Since I posted this review the owner has contacted me privately and wishes to resolve this with the person mentioned who was targeted by a staff member. The owner said she was distressed upon reading about this incident. So I have forwarded the owner's correspondence to the targeted person and hopefully it will be resolved in an amicable and satisfactory way.
My earlier review: It was brought to my attention that one of Chandlers nursery employees repeatedly intentionally mis-gendered a trans woman recently even after being corrected. The employee did so very loudly to maximise humiliation. It was quite a traumatic experience for the trans woman who was comforted by a member of the public who then went back into the store to admonish the employee. Obviously Chandlers nursery has at least one employee with bigoted views toward trans people.
I and my other friends will be making sure that as many people as possible know about this appalling and unacceptable incident and will be encouraging others to make purchases elsewhere in future. I encourage everyone to strongly register their disapproval of this kind of bigotry. It does not belong in the 21st C.
