Our day out at The Queen Victoria Market was nothing short of extraordinary, offering a perfect blend of food, shopping, and the lively atmosphere that makes this iconic Melbourne destination so special. From the moment we arrived, the market’s bustling energy drew us in, with its vibrant mix of sounds, scents, and sights that set the stage for an unforgettable experience. The market’s food offerings were a highlight of the day. We wandered through rows of vendors, each boasting an array of mouth-watering delicacies. Whether it was freshly shucked oysters, gourmet cheeses, or sweet treats, the variety was both impressive and tempting. The seafood stalls, in particular, stood out, with their displays of fresh catches and the enticing aroma of cooked dishes filling the air. We couldn't resist stopping by a few of the stalls to indulge in some of the best food Melbourne has to offer. Beyond the food, the shopping experience was equally enjoyable. The market is a treasure trove of unique items, from handcrafted jewelry to vintage clothing and artisan products. Every stall seemed to offer something different, making it a joy to explore and discover hidden gems. We found ourselves drawn to the diverse range of goods, whether it was picking up fresh produce, sampling exotic spices, or admiring the craftsmanship of local artisans. The Queen Victoria Market isn’t just a place to shop and eat; it’s an experience that captures the heart and soul of Melbourne. I had a very disappointing experience today at 3 pm at the historic Queen Victoria Market. I went there to buy a souvenir T-shirt, knowing that the market closes at 4 pm. I found a corner store with some nice-looking T-shirts, so I decided to ask about sizing, options, and different Melbourne prints. Initially, the store owner seemed friendly, helping me with sizes. However, within just two minutes, his attitude changed completely. I asked to see another T-shirt, but he began rushing me, saying he wanted to watch the football grand final and that they were closing soon. This was baffling, as there was still an hour left before closing, and they hadn't started packing up. Other customers were browsing too. I felt rushed and told him I’d go elsewhere. He responded with a dismissive, "GO, I don’t care." I replied that he had lost my business, but it didn’t seem to bother him. When I asked for the store's name to share my experience, he became very aggressive, even taking photos of me. It escalated into an exchange of words, which left me in disbelief. I had only wanted to buy a T-shirt. This level of customer service is unacceptable, especially for tourists coming from different parts of the world. It wasn’t about discouraging others from shopping there; it’s about preparing them for what they might encounter. If the owner didn't want to work because of the AFL grand final, it would have made more sense to close early rather than treat potential customers poorly. Experiences like this can really dampen your day, and shop owners with this attitude do not represent the market, the city, or even the country well. If you choose to shop there, I hope your experience is different.

I recently had the pleasure of shopping at Sarde's Beef Special in Queen Victoria Market, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience. I was particularly excited to find that they offer Halal Wagyu Beef, which is not only certified but also of exceptional quality. The butcher expertise and willingness to help were evident. When I asked for my beef to be cut into steak portions, he meticulously ensured each piece was perfect. His attention to detail didn't stop there. When I requested the removal of fat, he advised me to keep a portion of it attached to the meat. He explained that the fat would enhance the cooking process and improve the flavor and juiciness of the steak, a tip I greatly appreciated. The Wagyu beef itself was nothing short of superb. The marbling was beautiful, and it cooked to perfection, delivering a tender and flavorful steak that my family thoroughly enjoyed. The combination of high-quality meat and expert advice made for an exceptional culinary experience. Sarde's Beef Special offers a range of beef cuts, and it's advisable to ask which offerings are Halal certified. The butcher's knowledge and friendly demeanor make this shop a standout. Whether you're a seasoned cook or a novice in the kitchen, the guidance and quality at Sarde's Beef Special will not disappoint. Highly recommended for anyone looking for premium Halal Wagyu Beef and exceptional customer service in Melbourne. I will definitely be returning for more! Thank you, Sarde's Beef Special, for a fantastic shopping experience and for helping me create delicious meals for my family.

A Friday morning, a few weeks before Christmas. Queen Victoria Market is one of the most prominent hotspots of Melbourne, and it is surely a place to visit if you are in the City. QV market is divided into 5 parts: 1. The tourist trade section, with all sorts of stuff like souvenirs, clothes, memorabilia, jewellery etc. 2. The fruit and vegetables section, with a huge variety of seasonal local produce. 3. The meat and fish section, at the eastern side, with a great variety and good prices. 4. The deli section with a huge variety of goods, small goods etc, and 5. The small food court at the north-eastern side, currently undergoing renovation and partly operating. One could easily spend a day at QV market! In the old days (50s, 60s, 70s), it was were the migrants went to do their weekly groceries shopping. Now, it's more of a tourist spot, but there are signs of simple shoppers returning to do their shopping, as there is a fantastic variety, and one can find a bargain as well! QV market is undergoing a renovation, which will bring the location up to speed. It is disappointing that there is not much variety of food stalls/food trucks to have a bite or a coffee (vendors said it's too expensive to bring a food truck there...). Overall, well worth going to QV market if you are local or a tourist.

Wow! Queen Victoria Market, or "Vic Market" as the locals affectionately call it, was an absolute whirlwind of sights, sounds, and smells, and easily one of the highlights of my first trip to Australia. As a tourist, I was instantly drawn in by the sheer energy of the place. The sprawling stalls overflowing with fresh produce, the aroma of sizzling sausages and freshly brewed coffee, the friendly banter of the stallholders – it was a feast for the senses! I spent hours wandering through the maze of aisles, marveling at the colorful displays of fruits and vegetables I'd never seen before. I sampled local cheeses, indulged in a hot jam donut (a must-try!), and even bought a kangaroo leather keychain as a souvenir. The sheer variety of goods on offer is staggering, from clothing and souvenirs to fresh seafood and artisan crafts. It's truly a one-stop shop for everything! Haggling with the vendors was a fun experience, and I felt like I got some pretty good deals. The atmosphere was lively and vibrant, with buskers adding to the festive ambiance. It was a fantastic opportunity to experience the local culture and interact with Melburnians. One thing to note is that the market can get quite crowded, especially on weekends. Navigating the narrow aisles can be a bit of a challenge, but it's all part of the charm. I'd also recommend wearing comfortable shoes, as you'll likely be doing a lot of walking. Overall, my visit to Queen Victoria Market was a truly memorable experience. It's a vibrant, bustling hub that perfectly captures the spirit of Melbourne. If you're a first-time visitor to Australia, this iconic market is an absolute must-see. I left with a full belly, a lighter wallet, and a heart full of happy memories. 5/5 stars! 5/5 sao!
