Despite the challenges we faced in the lead-up to the performance—including last-minute cast changes and a negative impact on ticket sales—I’m pleased to share that THE PLAY went ahead successfully and was met with incredibly positive audience feedback. It was a powerful and emotional night, and much of its success is thanks to the outstanding support provided by your team at Perth Town Hall. From the moment we arrived, Ash and Aziz went above and beyond to ensure our setup ran smoothly. Their professionalism, calm under pressure, and attentiveness made a world of difference. They anticipated our needs, handled unexpected requests with ease, and helped us feel supported throughout a very full day of preparation and performance. The evening team, Chelsea and Owen, were equally exceptional. Their responsiveness and commitment to maintaining a high standard of service ensured that everything flowed seamlessly into the evening. Their behind-the-scenes coordination allowed our team and performers to focus on delivering the best show possible. We were also grateful for how well our supporting acts—Birdland, Jasmine from Rock Scholars, and Northern Lights Music—were accommodated. The lighting and sound crews did a superb job in managing transitions and ensuring each act had their moment to shine, adding to the overall professionalism and impact of the event. Please extend my sincere thanks to everyone involved. It was a pleasure working with such a dedicated and capable group, and I truly hope we have the opportunity to collaborate again in the near future. Given the community value and social impact of THE PLAY, written and created by Brian Montgomery, which continues to engage and empower young people across Perth, I would also be grateful if the City of Perth/Town Hall could consider sponsor another event end of the year...

Built in 1870, Perth Town Hall is Australia’s only Gothic-style town hall, and the only town hall built by convicts. An award-winning restoration has returned this historic jewel to its original charm. Antique aesthetics and modern amenities combine in this grand, one-of-a-kind venue. The Hall is open for public inspection from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Saturday, unless hired for a private function. Designed by Richard Roach Jewell and James Manning in the Victorian Free Gothic style, the hall was built by convicts and free men between 1867 and 1870. Its decorations contain a number of convict motifs, including windows in the shape of the broad arrow, and decorations in the shape of a hangman's rope. Looking up the jarrah staircase; photographs on the wall are of each Lord Mayor of Perth, starting with George Shenton The foundation stone for Perth Town Hall was laid on 24 May 1867 by Governor Hampton in a ceremony involving a lot of pomp and parade. However, there were torrential downpours. The ceremony went on anyway with an official procession from Government House and a mock battle performed by the Volunteer Regiments, Enrolled Forces of Pensioners, and the WA...

We recently celebrated our wedding at the Perth Town Hall and we couldn’t be more grateful to the entire team for helping create such a magical day. From start to finish, their professionalism, warmth and attention to detail were exceptional.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning, elegant and historic character. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the care and effort the team put in behind the scenes. From the beautifully arranged chairs to the enchanting lighting that set the perfect mood, everything was executed flawlessly.

The team went above and beyond, even down to the smallest things, like picking up a bag of ice for our drinks. It’s those thoughtful touches that made us (and our guests) feel so well cared for.

Everything ran smoothly, and we were able to relax and enjoy the day knowing we were in such capable hands. It was an absolute joy to celebrate in such a beautiful space, supported by such a dedicated and thoughtful team.

Kelly Mossop Photography did an amazing job capturing the day.

Thank you again, Perth Town Hall team—you helped create memories we’ll cherish...

Mesmerising concert. We loved it so much. We attended the Abba candlelight concert. It was such an incredible experience. It was very organised and made our experience so magical. We loved it so much that we ended up booking three more concerts. Our only negative experience was the photographs we purchased. They all cost $15. They were very poorly done. It was done like polaroid shots, very tiny. Size is not the problem, but the photography. They were dark, and you couldn't hardly see our faces. It was inconvenient to go back and get it done since there were long queues. It would be better if they offered to use your own phone/camera instead. The $15 is a waste of money. We have had 3 concerts already and all the same. Overall I recommend the candlelight concert to everyone. What a memorable experience. Just don't buy an extra $15 for the picture, as you can do better using your own phone. The $15 is very poor.
