30/10/22: went during the Halloween event with friends and did the cannibal room, the second hardest room in Escape This. it was very tricky but we were a great team and managed to escape!! the free hint system was also very generous (everyone has to wave at the camera and you get assistance from either a staff member or a pre recorded dramatic audio cue) and we needed it! we couldn't figure out the final step last minute and definitely went over time by about 5min but the staff were generous enough to let us escape first which we super appreciated. the room was genuinely very spooky we all felt very on edge but in the best way possible. there was so much thought put into each aspect of the room's design, and the puzzles feel like magic, very well executed. and the decorations outside were so cool!!
one thing I have to say for the cannibal room that the staff suggested I include: a little more light in the first room would've been appreciated! definitely could have figured it out without help if the visual clues were more discernible. overall it was an amazing experience and would definitely recommend!!
edit: Cannibal is still my favourite room ever even a year later I can't recommend it highly enough!!!
I fully intend to do every room here and in the CBD venue, I'll update as I do them!!
Pirate Island (19/2/23): very creative use of a small space I was so impressed!! got stumped on the final puzzle and didn't escape sadly, some more emphasis on the fact you had to listen out for an audio cue would have been appreciated, maybe a visual cue like a small light turning on? we did this with 8 people and it was pretty noisy so we had no idea there was an audio cue😂
Buried Alive (10/7/23): probably the most hardcore of the escape rooms as you can only do this with 2 people, do this with someone you trust and who is crazy as you are!! the guy who was running the game had the most AMAZING evil laugh as he slammed the coffin lids and walked out, so thrilling and freaky⚰️ my friend and I bought the shirts after escaping the room (pics shown), I'll be wearing the shirt proudly to future escape rooms too 😍
Dracula (30/9/23): very challenging even with 5 people we didn't make it out!! this one is more creepy vibes rather than really scary horror but still plenty immersive. we only made it halfway but the second part looked so cool!!! this room would have benefited from a bit more lighting and/or brighter lanterns, I don't enjoy increased difficulty purely by reduced visibility if you're meant to be able to read stuff. still the puzzles were very cool! will review this room again next time 😋
Asylum (28/11/23): this room totally freaked us out so much it was amazing. the logic flow of the room made lots of sense, loved all the puzzles and the voiced clues played when you press a button were really helpful! you can do it with up to 4 people but my friend and I finished with 15min to go, felt so satisfying!! this is definitely one of my...
Read moreI had a booking here today(12/12/23) for the Buried Alive Escape Room, where to start….. Last week I rang them as I have a companion card for a support worker to do it with me, I asked staff member Ashley if we are gonna be in a coffin for majority of the time we had in the room, she said no, you should be out of the coffin in 10-15mins max, well today spent nearly 40mins in the coffins trying to get out. So we got lied to straight up she downplayed the room so casually so we decided to do the Buried Alive themed room, but it is really full on. I didn’t enjoy it at all. Our room was not reset properly and I don’t care if this reveals anything but one of the wires you need to connect up to the human body picture on the wall in order to get the last code to escape, was missing. We searched everywhere and we couldn’t not find it at all, because of that we didn’t escape, apparently it’s under the mattress IF it is in the room. The worst part of it all was I was so stressed out and staff member Sophie , couldn’t or wouldn’t see that we clearly needed help at some stages. I was nearly in tears when we left the room and Sophie showed no remorse or didn’t even apologise or offer a refund. I had a very bad experience here today and I will not be returning. I was so disappointed that we were lied to and the room wasn’t set up properly with ALL the wires hanging together in the same place. I will not be coming back. Highly recommend going somewhere else to do an escape room. I’m abit disappointed as I was looking...
Read moreWhen trying to find an activity that 5 overly immature and unorganised men could actually focus on we found ourselves at a bit of a headscratch. Luckily with the help of Alexis and the other great staff at "Escape this" in North Bridge, we managed to not only focus up but have an absolute blast too. The team showed some obvious pride in their work getting us all in the right mood for a proper scare anticipating the thrills with our "haunting" escape room. And after taking off our blind folds to find ourselves surrounded by some of the most enjoyable puzzles and Intriguing mechanisms we not only managed to escape but in what felt like the quickest 40 minutes of our life. As we escaped feeling like Perths finest detectives all we could do was look at eachother and ask "so which one are we doing next?" After trying some other escape rooms before this one between us it is apparent where this one shines greater than the others. The staff love their work evident with some of their team being ex players of their escape rooms turned staff member and the puzzles showed nothing but creativity and excitement. Can't say thanks enough to Escape this for hosting an amazing time for all of us and being the reason we are already planning our visit. Fully amazing staff that just welcomed us from first step in. In summary hard to escape and even harder to...
