Staff made an uncomfortable experience. A major issue was when we were taking pictures with our flash on. A security lady came up to us and told us to stop taking pictures with the flash. We stopped taking pictures afterwards. When we started to take pictures again, my flash was still left on by accident, I took it off straight away after the first picture but the same lady approached us again saying. "I've already told you once that you cannot take pictures with flash but you're still doing it. If you do it again I'll have to report you." We kindly said yes again and left that area straight away. Turns out she reported us anyways to all the guards and kept walking back and fourth watching us while we were quietly watching the art, scared to take any more pictures knowing that she's closely watching us. We left the floor and headed to the elevator where she followed us again and told another security guard about the situation although we stopped after her warning. We kindly said yes again and went into the elevator where she still closely followed us. In the elevator she was staring at us with a dirty look, it made us really uncomfortable, anxious and unwelcomed. We went to the rooftop where she was about to follow but stayed inside and was watching us through the window.

It happened just as we entered the gallery, we had no time to relax and enjoy ourselves as we were constantly being watched and followed. Hearing the security lady constantly talk about us to her other workers.

I'm not going the question that rule since I know they don't control the rules, but was being followed, watched, reported, really that necessary? We've apologize many times too.

An unpleasant experience. We thought we came there to watch the art,...

The Art Gallery of Western Australia is an exceptional place to explore and appreciate art in all its forms. The gallery showcases a diverse range of exhibitions that span from contemporary works to traditional art, providing an enriching experience for visitors of all ages and backgrounds.

One of the most impressive features of this gallery is the quality of the works on display. Each exhibit is thoughtfully curated and features a wealth of fascinating pieces that are sure to captivate even the most discerning art enthusiast. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, providing informative insights and answering any questions visitors may have.

The gallery's architecture and layout are also noteworthy, with a modern and spacious design that allows visitors to move freely and appreciate the art from multiple angles. The gallery is easy to navigate, with helpful signage and directions that ensure visitors don't miss any of the exhibits.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia offers a variety of events and programs, including guided tours and workshops, which provide visitors with a deeper understanding of the art and artists showcased in the gallery. Additionally, the gallery's gift shop offers a range of high-quality souvenirs and art pieces for purchase.

The only slight downside of the Art Gallery of Western Australia is that it can get crowded during peak times, which may make it challenging to appreciate the art fully. Nevertheless, this is a minor issue, and overall, I would highly recommend this gallery to anyone looking to explore and appreciate the beauty of art. It's definitely...

(This review is directed mainly to the exhibition of Yoshitomo Nara.) I loved Yoshitomo Nara's exhibition within the ACWA. One thing that I believe is that with art, you don't have to make it complex, with theories there, theories that, yada yada. Yoshitomo didn't have to follow the complexity of Art Theory and maintained some emotion with it, and also, it looked really nice. I noticed that a lot of his artwork is directed towards the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing. His artwork is like visual protests towards having peace to the world; hoping that future generations don't create war (like his artwork Love or Nuclear made in 2013.) It gives me hope for the future world, for peace and tranquillity, and less atomic violence. I gotta say, the way his exhibition room is set up looks really nice and neatly done. I also love you can see the early untitled concepts of his sculptures, to see how much prototypes have changed over time, or if he just kept the design. Speaking of, his sculptures looked really beautiful and unique. The sculpture that was my personal favourite was Miss Forest (i assume that's what the tree lady is called), she looked really pretty. I also love some of the pottery and vases that he made (my favourite being 'reach out to the moon, even if we can't'. really love the name of that one). Overall, the Yoshitomo exhibition at ACWA was really nice. I recommend it.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia is home to some of the Best Artworks on Display from around the World... The Art Gallery itself and surrounding areas have undergone extensive renovations over the past few years especially and still continue to display such a diverse range of Art.... The Staff are extremely knowledgeable and well trained in all types of Artwork... From paintings to 3D structures, there are so many amazing pieces of Art...!! The Art Gallery of WA is most definitely worth visiting whilst the holidays are still on.... At the moment they are still showing Heath Ledger's Life in Pictures Display... It is a great display and if you make your way down here, you will see just how talented this young West AustralIan man was...!! With a newly renovated and licensed restaurant/cafe just at the front of The Art Gallery, called 'FRANK' AGWA (Art Gallery of Western Australia) Don't take my word on it.... Come take a look..! A great day out for everyone....
