Took a walk around the place. It's an amazing place to just sit and relax ,maybe read a book. There's a lot of outdoor space where people can simply sit down and watch the world go by. Well positioned between the bus stand and railway station and very close to Northbridge. Market Hall provides some eatery options and they are definitely not the usual ones at a food court. All of them are quite niche sort of eateries and pubs. Haven't had any food yet from here - but will edit this post once I try some of the eateries. The Hawaii one looks fresh and promising. The concept is quite clear here - provide ample space at the center of the city where people can simply sit, stand or lie-down and spend time doing nothing. Oh, and there's an amphitheater for events and a small kids play area at the top. You can enter the area through the horse shoe bridge as well, apart from railway station, bus port, North bridge, Wellington st...

This is a place of many faces! They've done it up really well, and the christmas lights are amazing at the moment. Some days and nights it's really good to walk around and explore, other times you get a lot of crime and police issues. It's the luck of the draw with this area. If you are planning to walk through here on a Friday or Saturday night, have your wits about you and keep your bag close. If you have to walk through here during the day for work, you may get some verbal thrown at you. Then there are times when they get amazing attractions in and the whole area is lit up and welcoming. Those times are fantastic 🥳 The police have stepped up to make this area more safe, but you can't win them all. It's a start! This really is a luck of the draw place where you roll the dice on what you get to experience!

Now coming to the review of Yagan Square. Located in the heart of Perth, WA, Yagan Square is a dynamic meeting place filled with an energy that echoes the Aboriginal significance of the site. It's not just a place for transit, but a hub of culture, food, and art. The cuisine offerings are diverse, catering to various food lovers. Its splendid architecture is an embodiment of modern design seamlessly blending in historical elements. In the evening, the nearby digital tower lights up, painting a vibrant and lively atmosphere. With regular events and an interactive playground for children, Yagan Square caters to both families and individuals. Overall, a visit to Perth would feel incomplete without passing by Yagan Square, the city's beating heart

This is a vibrant public space in the heart of the city, offering a unique and dynamic shopping, dining, and entertainment experience. The square features an array of food vendors, cafes, and restaurants, with cuisines from all over the world. The outdoor seating area is spacious and shaded, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal or drink. The square also has a large digital tower display that provides interactive entertainment, as well as a performance stage for live events and performances. The facilities are well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, Yagan Square is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a unique and exciting experience in the heart of Perth.

Yagan Square is currently (July 2023) under redevelopment concurrently with the construction of the ECU University city campus. The open spaces are largely gone, and this space is essentially a wide thoroughfare linking the city centre to Northbridge. Ironically, the place is much quieter despite the masses of people flowing through the area. The open grassy knolls and water features, along with many park benches, are all now behind construction hoarding boards. Gone, too, are the many vagrants and homeless that used to live in the Square. It feels a lot safer and is less intimidating to walk through the square without dodging fighting families or loud drunks that seemed to emerge at nightfall.

The architecture here is really nice. The rust facade is very appealing. The kids playground is tad small and requires a bit more covered seating as a lot of parents were getting baked in the sun. The food hall is really cool, lots of new interesting places. Not the same old franchise junk stores - really well chosen. The internal fit out was also really well done. The square is right next to the new busport and you can walk to the other side of the busport under cover and find the other new square called King's Square.
