I visited Rottnest Island via Rottnest Express Ferry with 3 adults and 2 children ages 3 and 4. When we arrived we headed to the information to find out a nice beach to go within walking distance. The staff member that served us at the vistor information centre was friendly and helpful. He recommended Pinky's Beach because it was 500 metre walk.
As we walked to the beach we came across friendly Quokka's. It's amazing how they wonder around and the kids were saying hi they hopped over to say hi back completely unafraid.
Pinky’s beach was picturesque with a lighthouse on top of the hill. We set up on the beach and spent 2 to 3 hours enjoying the sun, water and sand. The weather was perfectly warm, the water fresh and the sand easy to mould into sand castles. The time flew by quickly.

The crystal-clear waters surrounding the island were so inviting that I could hardly bring myself to leave the ocean. Swimming there was an absolute dream; the water was refreshing, and it felt like I was floating in paradise, surrounded by the vibrant colors of marine life beneath me. Every stroke was a reminder of how connected I felt to nature in that moment. The combination of the gentle sea breeze, the warmth of the sun, and the pure, untouched beauty of the island made it an unforgettable experience. I could’ve spent hours just swimming and soaking it all in, not wanting to leave the tranquil embrace...

Grab a shower and a cocktail / beer / lunch in your boardies and wet gear if you want up the stairs at the restaurant. Pool is for resort guests only but everything else open to the public. Great food and drinks, reasonably...
