It was my first time in WA and Rottnest Island - disappointed that the on island bicycle operator did not have any e-bikes after sustaining a serious back injury. Cue the visit to the small but friendly team at Segway Tours on Rottnest Island. Josie was extremely friendly in terms of explaining the island tour packages. She was professional and did not pressure me with the typical tourist sales pitch. I happily booked the next tour and little did I know she would be taking us around the island. Wow was she knowledgeable and thorough with the pre-tour brief where Gareth also joined us in familiarising with the Segways (I was so uncoordinated but they were patient and got me to safely operate it!). Josie took us on the tour and offered multiple opportunities for us to relax our ankles from the constant standing as well as offering to take photos along the very picturesque landscapes of Rottnest Island. There was a small issue with one of the members of the group falling off, Josie responded in a quick, professional and caring manner to the scene (no serious injuries thankfully). I was so satisfied with the tour and relaxing nature (rather than hurrying us to get it over and done with) that I booked the immediate tour after. Unfortunately there was no one besides me and near closing time, Gareth went out of his own way to also run the tour - the personal tour of the island and laid back nature made it an excellent end to my time on the island. These two staff members, Josie and Gareth are an excellent small team which have made me have a lasting impact on my time in Rottnest Island and would be the clear highlight during my trip to Perth, Western Australia. I would recommend first timers to Rottnest Island to avoid the bicycles and go immediately for the Segway tour - your legs and body will appreciate it and you will not have to duck and weave through the heavy and populated cycling traffic. The Segway is the king of the road on this island!

I had an incredible time on a Segway Tour with Segway Tours WA on Rottnest Island. Our guide, Gaz, was not only knowledgeable about the island's history, but also super friendly and entertaining. Gaz took us to some amazing spots on the island and made sure we didn't miss any opportunities to capture snapshots of the breathtaking scenery. One of the coolest things we did was explore the barracks and learn about the island's rich history. Gaz's extensive knowledge made it all the more engaging. We also got to see some fab wildlife during the tour which was a highlight of the day. Gaz knew exactly where to take us so that we wouldn't miss any of the island's incredible nature and photo-ops. I would highly recommend Segway Tours WA and Gaz to anyone visiting Rottnest. The experience was fantastic, and Gaz went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable time.

What a great way to get a different perspective of Rottnest! We did the 1.5 hour Fortress tour, which synced well with the Sealink ferry schedule and allowed for some free time before the tour began. The first 15 minutes is taken up by getting outfitted and instruction/practice so that all participants are comfortable on the Segways. Then we were off, with Justin's voice in our ears (we all had little ear devices) giving us background and info on the Island or cautioning us about upcoming hazards. There's really only bus traffic on the roadways, plus about half of our route was off road, so we felt completely safe. Lots of fun, highly recommended!

It’s pretty different experiences to explore Rottnest island but the instructors (Justin) was a bit rude when he knew one of us couldn’t speak proper English, then we ask if he can speak slower and use simple words to explain to one of the friends so can be easier to understand but he refused to do it and keep interrupting us when we try to tell him she will be okay and understand him if he used simple words.

The first impression wasn’t good and that ruined the whole experience. When we arrived, the last groups was just finished and heading back to the office and we were waiting outside the office( the door was locked), when he walked passed us, no greeting no words at all just give us a “ move away” gesture which we really don’t appreciate that!

However, I believe there’s still better instructors, and the route of they took us is really pretty...
