Yes, I share the sentiments of previous reviewers. Pretty shabby service. It’s not immediately obvious anywhere that you have to buy a ticket. None of the stops tell you. I caught one after walking to the west end of the island and he didn’t ask me for a ticket. I got off for a beach and back on later and the driver was very rude because I didn’t have a ticket. So I got off and jogged back. Do yourself a favour - you go to Rottnest to, amongst other things, get away from traffic. So why get on a bus? Perth CBD has free buses, so does Fremantle. Without clear signs, it’s not unreasonable to assume the island bus is free too, as we’ve all paid to get here, one way or another and there is little information to tell...

There are bus-loads of people arriving at each stop, so when you try to leave - people are piling on top of each other trying to get back on the buses. There are no structured queues, so it’s free-for-all trying to get on the buses. You could miss 3 or 4 buses before you can leave, so you waste an hour of your day waiting for a bus. Doing this with children is terrible.
The buses are over crowded with people standing, so the scenery is obscured. You pay $30 per adult for that ride, and $22 per child!
The bus drivers were friendly...
