Cronulla Library — Attraction in Sydney

Went there for 1st and probably last time today. Great location. As others have said it's a community centre not a library. A whole bunch of kids were told by a very loud adult on multiple occasions today to shout at various animals which were threatening to consume them whole. Another theory is that the library is really just a draw-card for the coffee shop which is integrated into it. The library consists completely of just 1 big room - it can't therefore by definition cater for more than 1 event if that event is noisey. The desks with power are pokey and uncomfortable with no visual or acoustic separation between them. Don't come here for serious study. Not sure what choices that leaves. I think funding might have something to do with libraries letting anyone do what ever they like in them to maximise bodies...

I am sitting, coffee in hand, in this most modern of libraries in Cronulla. The sign at the door sets the tone ‘this is a noisy space’, with suggestions of where to go if you want something quieter. The bistro style cafe offers toasties and smoothies, coffees and cakes and you’ll be served by a pleasantly spoken barrister who makes a lovely cup. It’s really quite relaxed and social, with board games being played at the tables and plenty of space to enjoy. As you’ll see from the pictures, there is actually a quieter end, but it doesn’t have that forbidden silence thing happening that you might find in other libraries. An awesome find. 😊

Here again today 15/1 .. and lovin’ it. Drinking coffee, surrounded by books and a crochet club. It’s just great. I haven’t come across this in a library...

JP Service! Absolutely a joke of a JP. Told me he needs to confirm my relationship to the company which firstly is not a jp's job. Then said he doesn't want to serve me because I'm calling the accountant to get proof of my director relationship to the company that HE asked for. Then he advised that I need a company stamp otherwise he has to cross out words on my legal document because I have no physical stamp. What is this? Caveman age?? Worst service and he seriously need to read the JP handbook to get himself better educated. He should ensure I understand legal implications on signing the docs and check the ID, not asking for ridiculous items beyond...
