HOYTS Cronulla — Local services in Sydney

We love going to Hoyt’s and are loyal customers and thought we would try out Cronulla as we had never been there before. As soon as we walked upstairs I was very impressed as there was a stunning bar area and lovely sofas to sit on. We arrived on time so didn’t have time to enjoy some lounging time before the movie. I went to buy my usual popcorn, drinks and choc top. The staff were happy, relaxed and friendly. After purchasing our snacks we entered our cinema. We had booked the last row and there was absolutely no lighting. I was about to sit down when my daughter noticed the chairs and the tables where you put your snacks and drinks, were absolutely filthy and disgusting and hadn’t looked like it had been cleaned for ages. There was still rubbish in there as well. We knew the cinema wasn’t fully booked so looked around and found some other seats to sit on. The seats we sat on were better but there were other seats that weren’t cleaned either!! That’s just terrible. Your staff have time to clean the cinema properly before each session begins and it was such a shame that it was just so filthy and dirty. Then I was stressed as to whether we took someone else’s seats and then we would have to move again if we did. But luckily we didn’t. Looking back in hindsight I should have asked someone to come clean it but the movie was about to start. I ate my choc top first and then when the movie started, proceeded to eat the popcorn. It was soooooo salty!! I mean I’ve had popcorn that I thought was too salty but this was 1000% more salty than usual. We didn’t want to miss out on the movie as it was really good and so we just stuck with it until I couldn’t eat anymore. Wonka was such a good movie so definitely make time to watch it. Our tongues were all dehydrated from the salt. And I really wasn’t impressed and I finished my large drink early on. The next day I woke up and had two large ulcers on my tongue. I never get ulcers!!! My daughter luckily didn’t get ulcers but her tongue was still feeling weird - we don’t know how to describe that feeling. Other than that we loved Cronulla’s ambience in their foyer with the loungers and bar. Am very disappointed about the filthy cinema and the salty popcorn that caused me to suffer from painful ulcers for the almost a week. Death by salty popcorn is what it felt like.

Hoyts Cronulla is without a doubt my favourite place to catch a movie in Sydney. The venue is absolutely beautiful, warmly lit, classically designed foyer with modern amenities, some fantastic chill lobby music, and some great food options for a cinema. I've always found that the cinemas themselves are immaculately clean, the seats are comfortable and spacious, and unlike event cinemas us tall guys aren't struggling to just fit into the seats.

The cinema has some great rewards programs and affordable tickets, always happy with how much I pay whenever I visit. But for me the staff really sealed the deal, professional, customer service focused and making sure you truly enjoy your visit - a special shoutout to Edmund & the Monday night staff, you guys...

A bit dissapointing over all. Went to see Elementals today. Paid $9 for a small slurpy. Popcorn price was reasonable. After movie went to use the ladies toilet after session and every single toilet was filthy with poo and urine in every stall, on the seats, etc. Came out to the reception area to see five employees standing together clearly having a social chat behind the counter in clear view of guests. I'm not sure if it's up to the staff to maintain the toilets, but I think senior management needs to be aware of this situation. Never before have I seen a Hoytes bathroom in such a dreadful condition. It's a shame for such a well-appointed cinema that hygiene standards are so poor, particularly...
