My reviews are not usually this detailed, but we were really disappointed with our visit.
Called in to have a quiet breakfast. We were offered the buffet breakfast. That's where things went downhill.
We've eaten here many times before, while staying here and also just as walk-ins.
Their hot buffet breakfast turned out to be soggy, oily hash browns, mushrooms that were shriveled and soaking in butter, rubberised scrambled eggs that looked like they had been there since the dark ages, and bacon that could be used as a weapon (it was that dry and hard).
There was an open bowl with some kind of muesli, no milk! We had to ask for the milk several times before it was poured from the plastic bottle onto the cereal.
For the fruit, there was a couple of strawberries, a piece of pineapple, a piece of watermelon, and a couple of pieces of rockmelon. Which wasn't even fresh.
There was fruit juice left at room temperature, but that didn't matter because there were no glasses to drink it from anyway. The staff didn't want to help and get any.
The bowls and plates which were left out to use were filthy. It took several minutes to sort through and find one that was clean enough to use.
The coffee was almost cold and I left it after 2 sips.
All this set us back $60 between us.
We've just found out my sister's experience a couple of months ago was very similar.
Thanks Rydges, we definitely...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of staying at Rydges Hotel in Cronulla, Australia, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The location alone sets it apart, offering the best of Cronulla right at our doorstep. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is its exceptional service.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a team of charming, friendly, and incredibly helpful staff members. Thomas, the manager, sets the standard for going above and beyond, and every receptionist at the front desk follows suit. Even the maintenance team made a point to greet guests and ensure our happiness.
The baristas and all the staff in the dining and bar area were equally as delightful, always going out of their way to ensure that our stay was nothing short of perfect. Their genuine concern for guest satisfaction was evident in every interaction.
During our 13-day stay with a group occupying multiple rooms, we all felt like we were leaving behind not just a hotel, but a home and family. The warmth and hospitality extended by the Rydges Cronulla team made our time there truly memorable.
We wholeheartedly recommend Rydges Cronulla to anyone, for any length of stay. To the dedicated team at Rydges Cronulla, we want to express our sincere gratitude. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and they are greatly appreciated by all your guests. Keep up the...
Read moreWhere to start? Forecourt was blocked on arrival, and the carpark was the wrong height for my vehicle, leading me to park on the street, where it was then sprayed with bundy rum during the night it seems (see photos). Then when I attempted to check in, there were issues with using my google wallet loaded credit card for the 'on hold' security charge, even though the room had been pre-paid in full on the same credit card, and I had the required drivers licence. Then there was the pre-paid sparklingly wine, that was to be 'on arrival', that I had to chase an hour later. When it did arrive, little effort had been taken to actually place it in the ice (see photos). Next was the room itself... the air-conditioning was freezing, and the controls were faded, so any adjustments were a game of 'trial and error' (see photos). Additionally the noise from the street was ridiculously loud, as was the noise from a party being hosted onsite at the hotel. The party noise only dissipated close to midnight, long after we'd attempted to sleep. Room cleanliness was poor with dirty glass, inside and out, and some of the wall damage/marks (see photos). Overall the room was a poor standard, as was the service levels. For $550pn, the room and hotel were not worth the investment. I would never...
