** If heaven had a breakfast dish, this is it!! ** The perks of being a destination wedding videographer is you get to go to a lot of cafes. Over time you learn what’s really good and what’s not so good. —- That’s where Seachange Cafe in Dee Why comes in. This Salmon Bene is on another level to other benes. Perfection from the presentation to the empty plate, perfectly grilled steaks nested on a choice of either sour dough or Turkish toast.( Sourdough in picture) Topped with in-house hollandaise sprinkled with fresh chives. —- Cannot go wrong having your breakfast or brunch at Sechange Cafe in Dee why. 100% recommend to everyone with a set of tastebuds. Ps. The coffee is solid too.

The food portion was generous, compare to price it’s worth it! and taste is really authentic enough to bring my partner’s old memory about his Brizilian friend cooked for him few years ago. It made him kept talking how nice of the food back then and the Feijoada he had at Seachange cafe was really impressive. All of staffs were so friendly and very helpful and understading even they were soooo busy. Nice attitude and service from their heart. My partner and I was really happy with the experience. The view was spectacular, clean, fresh air, the place was full of good enerygy. Definite go back. Thanks a lot for the overall experience. :)

We went there on Sunday and it was the busiest place on the street. Due to the large amount of people our order took longer than usual, but the stuff managed everything accordingly, cheers for that guys. I will not leave 5 stars for the goulash. Im not an expert, but other times I got it ,the sauce/liquid was considerably more dense, in this case was almost like a soup, too much water. The salad was great, but not awesome. A great experience overall though 🤙🏽😊

Food - 5 Price - 4 Service - 5 Atmosphere - 5 Place - 5

Intrigued by the reviews we've found on Google Maps Local Guide, seldom we found quite a high ratings (average ratings 4.5 based on more than 20 people). We decided to test whether the reviews are reliable.

We came in around 11am... not so much for a breakie... the weather have to take responsibility for that. 😃

The place have about 19 tables with 2-3 tables with sofa seatings. With free Wi-Fi from the council, this is a great place to hangout and chill out with coffee of course, although it is not a high speed internet but what do you expect? 😂

Taking about coffee, the don't really have fancy list of coffee but they have affogato which is added great addition to the coffee list.

We've ordered Mocha and the server pleasantly agree to add whipped cream on top, which makes it Vienna Mocha. 😃. I'm a happy guy. The mocha was excellent.

My wife ordered Affogato, out of her curiosity. Lol. Again they don't disappoint just a bit too strong for her.

When we come, the place was quite packed only 2 tables empty.

Anyway now on to the good stuff... after long debate (Me and my wife), we've decided to try what have been recommended by the reviews. The Californian and the Local.

The Local Basically it is just bacon and egg... with a bit unusual plating of potato rosti. But I have to say all works well still in my mouth. The bacon was cooked to perfection, crispy and tender, melts straight away in the mouth. Man... my mouth is watering again. I chose the fried egg which is normal, nothing special. When I think about it, next time I should order scramble.

The only downside with this dish is the price. Still a bit dear for just a big breakfast meal but still OK considering the position of the place. Beach front, you can see the waves splashing the beach.

The Californian This dish is truly the one of the best and well worth the price. Good servings of grilled Salmon. My wife ordered with poached eggs which were good size and cooked perfectly. It comes with rocket and tomato salad toss. The combination worked well for her taste buds. Although I have to say the salmon was a bit on the dry side.

Overall, the Seachange Cafe lived up to it's name and didn't disappointed those who have given good reviews and this includes us, the Emmanuel's Family.

So here we go, over and out, from Emmanuel's Family...

This cafe was our family's go to place over the past few years, it used to be a great brunch place.

however 'inflation' seem to had a huge impact on them, the quality just went down the hill.

Food - our favourite menu is 'The local' and 'the green sea'. portion used to be generous, and their signature 'potato rosti' was well known for being chunky , crispy outside and soft inside.

today was absolutely terrible, the food portion was much smaller than before, spinach was just SALT itself, bacon was undercooked, omelet was overcooked to a point where the egg was grey colour on the bottom, they brought out the wrong bread..

Service - I understand that it was a busy time of the day, but the food was served nearly an hour later, only one dish came out around 30mins time, then rest came another 20mins later. I had to ask 3 different staff to follow up on food order, none of them come back, and they pretty much ignored our table. When we finally got the food, I could see another dish came out that we ordered (duplicated), cuz the staff did not communicated each other.

not just our table, there were two ppl came to sit at the table, only one chair available, the staff said they will bring the another chair soon but they didnt, so that the customer had to stand up awkwardly for good 5-10mins while other person was sitting down.

seriousely disappointing...and it was not enjoyable meal at all.

It is sad that one of our family's favourite cafe in deewhy is now became a least favourite...

Gone terribly down hill since the cafe changed ownership. This was the best cafe in Dee Why for years and years, known for its big portions and incredible quality plus friendly staff, Always packed but worth the wait.

Now its food quality has gone seriously down hill even though they have tried to keep the same menu. We waited 45mins for only one of our meals to come out, the next came out after 65mins! and the eggs were uncooked and veg cake completely overcooked it was a dry hard square with cold roast tomatos. The manager (or owner im unsure) Was running around like a clumsy headless chook. Wouldnt apologise to anyone about the late food and avoided eye contact to anyone asking questions, and would brush them off when they did ask,yet he kept welcoming customers in and not telling them they would have to wait an hour for food. The poor waitress was having to go around apologising after him cause he was so incompetent.

This is the 3rd visit in about 6 weeks that have all ended with disaster. Because of how great this cafe used to be I keep trying to give it another chance but im now im completely done.

The owner needs to find a new manager that actually knows how...
