Hangover cure: attempt successful.

Me & me galpal AM cruised in about 10.30am for a cas Sundae Breaky for a bit of R&R after a few beers on a fine Satdy arvo the previous.

The waitress serving us was polite, smiled, efficient and knew what she was doing.

The food was slow to come although we noticed at the time there was only two chefs in a small kitchen who were working their hardest.

The Ploughman Breakfast at $24 was pretty good. The Leg Ham was of great quality, with the dried tomatos, fetta cheese and sourdough (which was a bit too toasted dry) all good quality. The poached egg was simple, nothing impressive- couldve prob done with another egg included. Lots of avocado (half an avo!)

The Juice I can't remember which name it was, was good qual (but not as awesome as the one I had at Cooh - best juice ever!)

AM had the Banana bread with Honey, Ricotta and Poached Pear. I also tasted this and it was absolutely delish. Although at $12 you'd want it to be.

The furniture and fitout was bright and comfortable. With a quality table that didnt rock, wasnt stained and was a nice beached timber top.

My partner and I have been going to JBs for YEARS. This time we went, today, ordered halloumi fries and a drink which were delicious, then burgers. My partners burger was fine apparently but i bit into mine and everything was freezing cold except the chicken. I had worked in hospitality for 10 years and NEVER in my life sent something back so was hesitant to do so. After two bites and feeling sick and disgusted, motioning to the waiters who didn’t see, i went up and grabbed someone that worked there and explained how cold and gross my meal was and I APOLOGISED for complaining. They apologised profusely and went to sort it out. Minutes later an aggressive chef comes up to our table, gets in my face and argues that the chicken is 56 degrees, the temp it “should be”. I said mate that’s not the issue, everything else is cold, it’s gross. And he argued with me! I was APPALLED and said just take it off the bill, we’re off. Feral. Love the beer and food is amazing! Families friends locals and out of Towner’s are all deep in conversation. Well done JB’s staff!!! Keep smiling 🥰 It is 10 months later and I need to be more clear…. Those who are Lager enthusiasts it is super popular! But JB and Son’s (JB’s we call it) had early on, Mountain Culture beers consistently and before the hype. Status Quo has won the hottest 100 beers since my original post and it has been the locals stable beer!!! So yes we like beer but we are much more choosy these days, so when I say JB’s has good beer, for a small amount of Taps the beer is well balanced with verity. As I said before great Lager and Status Quo with guest tabs from various craft breweries!!! Don’t go changing 😉 Oh and for those who are just about to go on a diet the last taste in your mouth should be a burger 🍔 or loaded fries 🍟 with a final nail………… off Cheese Burger spring rolls….
