Have seen this place go thru many changes over the decades, including the Raindrop Fountain; watching performances in the centre open space (no longer open) from any floor as we leant over the glass balcony; to the cinema that we went to as children; to the food court that was carpeted (which made it quiet unlike the audio-assault we get now in the cold, hard, echo chamber that replaced the former). This was a place where we ate from real plates with real cutlery (& those inclined could grab a glass of wine at the bar). Nowadays Roselands is good for grocery shopping (ground floor) with plenty of cafes to take a break. Unfortunately this floor is always busy. Even lining up to several of the specialised merchants (eg seafoods; delicatessen; grocer's) can be a bit of a shuffle. On the 3rd floor is the Eatery. There are some good choices here though it doesn't have the variety that some plazas do- especially since covid19. Many vendors have exited all together including Macca's, which is surprising. My personal fav which is still here is the Spuds & Roasts store. The +'s: *It's fairly easy to find parking spots *It's not too big so doesn't take too long to get around *Choice of 3 supermarkets *Ground level is good for grocery shopping *Ground level is good for cafes or takeaway. My favourites here are DeliFrance, especially the tuna-mix baguettes; Costi Seafood for both uncooked & cooked seafood (takeaway); the cold-pressed orange juice at the grocer's; the lasagne & cold meats from the deli; the honey-soy chicken and chicken rissoles from the chicken shop. They also do hot food for anyone who can't wait to cook. *There is an abundance of optometry stores to choose from. *There are a couple of medical centres. The -'s: *The lifts are slow, despite having added additional lifts in recent years *The lifts located inside aren't very big. They really can only take 2 shopping trolleys & 4 passengers at a time. *There are rarely any disability parking spaces available (I'd estimate one being available about 10% of the time). *They lost a number of good stores during the refurbishment (just prior to the start of covid). Obviously the management's requirements were not conducive to many of these merchants. Some of these stores were essential services (eg chemist) who had loyal customers for decades. The biggest loss for me was the exiting of Hot Dollar. It wasn't a very big store but had a great variety & some quality products at very reasonable prices. There is still the Reject shop but they are now transitioning to more if a cut-price grocery store (importing products from a UK-based supermarket). I'd really like the see a Base Warehouse like that one in Menai OR bring over the Dollar Store from the USA (even though their prices now start at $1.25, it's their variety that is so good). *I haven't found a butcher at Roselands that I'm happy with in the last few years. I continue to go to Riverwood or Mortdale...
Read moreI'm a customer that has been coming to Roselands shopping entre for 3 years now. Unfortunately, today we lived a very unfair situation during our queue time at 2:30 pm in the Ground level... My husband had already lined up for the lift while I was changing my kids nappies in the parents room. Then, when the kids and I arrived to the queue. An older woman who was last in the queue got upset that my husband let me in and she complained to the security guard who was a Middle Eastern young man guarding the only functioning lift. The security guard told me that people were unhappy my husband let me in the queue so he sent me out of the queue and I felt disappointed at how little empathy, courtesy and compassion come along when there are toddlers around. I told: but I have kids!!! -. And he still sent me back out. We were parked at Level P3. So I went around to the Ground level carpark area to see if there was any ramps that could get me to level p3 but to my surprise there weren't any. Anyways, so I went back to queue again and the same old lady wearing red she was arguing with and elderly woman about making her walk... The security guards were two females that allowed this happening. At this point I just feel like is not worth to come back again as there might be 4 weeks or more of fixing the other lifts. Sorry Roselands shopping centre but you have disappointed most of your customers today. Splitting up families and making elderly people walk when some of them are clearly very old.
That's all I...
Read moreSecurity at Coles here called the police on me and i was still in the store, hadn't left and was still shopping for groceries, how dispicable are they to ban me for 12 months without proper evidence or proof, yet i had nothing in my pockets, bag, had access to thousands of dollars, an absolute disgrace Coles undercover security,
So it's now 2023 I was charged by the police because of overzealous loss prevention officers who lied on the witness stand and even his English wasn't that good, he was asked a number of different ways to try to help him answer the question which he couldn't because he was lying, I was acquitted and found not guilty as I was innocent so because of the lies this rent a cop dished out I had to go through over a year of massive stress and trauma, meaning I had to fight for my freedom and also to clear my name, so my previous comments about shame on Coles for letting this illiterate security guard be allowed to work for them, and I wonder is he still working for them? All these shopping supermarkets that employ these people should train them properly and make sure they don't just assume by somebody's looksthat they are stealing or about to steal or try to steal because even someone in nice clothes is capable of stealing, same as people with no tattoos can steal and vica versa, there are many people covered in tattoos who have no criminal record and who make lots of money from working or running a business!
So I am innocent and was...
