Unapologetic and full of excuses. As I scrolled through the reviews for this restaurant, I figured that the owners have done the same to other patrons and is just full of excuses. Time and time again the owners have promised customers to improve management but yet the reply is still the same. "We had a sudden influx, because of that we have the right to treat other customers terribly". I think "sudden" influxes lose their "suddenness" over time.
Staff were friendly and professional. Coffee was amazing, the barista was so friendly. Food even looks decent. Just sad to see the owner coming over and giving us excuses and telling us its my fault for not being patient and understanding. Here is the context:
We saw the lunch menu online awhile back and decided it would be awesome to grab some lunch there. So I checked online and the menu mentioned that they start lunch at 11am. Just to be extra sure, we called and confirmed this. We even made a bookin. We got there at 11am sharp. Went to the counter and tried to make the order. The staff were well aware of the time and said its fine. Owners interjected telling me we can't get lunch. I was abit puzzled because I spoke to someone on the phone and i did see the lunch times on their website. We decided to order our coffee first while waiting for them to decide whether they can do lunch. After 15 minutes, they told me that the lunch menu will only start in 40 minutes. I was less inclined to wait for 40 minutes before they start cooking. So i was about to finish my coffee and find another location for my meal when the owner comes in and tells me its not their fault. Tells me they didn't expect a large table(mind you the cafe is half empty besides this one large table) and that its my fault I can't wait, even goes on to tell me "What do you expect me to do?". This is probably why I decided to write the review.

My views on this topic is not the issue, nor was the problem brought to your attention. Your poached eggs where hard, chorizo was old and dry and your knowledge of covid is dismal at best. Not even an acknowledgment of how unhappy your customers were,nor an apology. Now you have the audacity to try and shoot me down because I had a valid reason to my unhappiness with your service and food. Your attempt to belittle my views and disregard the true problem which is your food and service. Your covid issues weren't the issue and nor did I bring up my views with you. If your staff focused on the real problem instead of the other views, you would have a much larger turn out than you do. Your immature response to a valid problem with your business.
I was polite to your staff. Your continuance in this situation trying to push a political stance is absurd. You are childish, immature and I your lying attitude will come back to bite you. You never asked me once what the problem was, nor did I have more than 5 words to you. And still no apology from you. Just you trying to bring covid politics to try and back your story. Facts are all you need and had you acted as a proper propieter of a customer service food industry and asked your staff, you wouldn't have this review or this example of what a petty little person who cant take criticism nor explore the details themselves. Read moreBurger wrong 3 times in a row. I've never seen it done before but this team managed to do it. I clearly ordered a cheeseburger and a chicken burger for my colleague and our other colleague also ordered the chicken burger. We wait for 10 minutes and 3 chicken burgers arrive.
I politely advised the waiter that I ordered a cheeseburger, he apologises and heads back to the kitchen where I proceed to wait another 15 minutes whilst my colleagues have polished off their chicken burgers and now just waiting for my burger to turn up out of courtesy.
My burger arrives, it has beef (good start) but then it has lettuce and beetroot and other stuff on it and definitely no cheese. It's the wrong burger again! I go back to the kitchen with my burger and tell them they've got it wrong again. The chef tells me he'll fix it up.
I go back to my seat with my colleagues who are waiting on me to eat and about 30 seconds pass and suddenly the same burger with cheese on it is placed in front of me as the chef comments "we all make mistakes" and then leaves me to eat my burger which has had the buns changed but beetroot still smeared on the side of the same beef patty on the previous burger which has been flash cooked to melt the cheese on top of it and is now a dry piece of bland beef and a now dry crusty bun when its meant to be soft brioche.
Jerks me around in my lunch hour and leaves me eating alone in front of my 2 colleagues when the point was to eat together and the comment is "we all make...
