I started paddling with motivated Mario and his highly experienced family including Vicci, Ziko and Carlito a month ago at Narrabeen Lagoon and in two weeks had progressed to ocean paddling from the Skiff Club, beautifully located at The Spit, Mosman. Can’t say how much I’m enjoying the Mazu crew constantly coaching, encouraging and challenging me to improving my fitness, my stroke, and my all round ski craft to go farther, faster! I was lucky enough to join Mario and the Surfski Warehouse/ Learn to Paddle Crew from the very beginning, Jan 2021. My 14yo son and I paddled right through winter and are still going strong paddling 5 days a week with the team. We thoroughly enjoy the community, coaching, location, variety and results. We are achieving things on the water that we could never imagine, from 24km Spit to Bondi round trips, downwinders from Long reef to Spit, PB 12km timetrials on Narrabeen, double and single races on a Friday. I decided to start learning to paddle as a lockdown exercise program and committed to the ten weeks twice a week and threw in some very valuable one on one lessons along the way. Learn to Paddle took me from a complete beginner to an intermediate paddler, comfortable in waves, fast in still water, safely being able to go alone or with a group within five months.
