It's been forever since I've been to Parramatta and I'll admit, it has really stepped up its game in terms of dining and entertainment. I came to the venue on a lovely Sunday afternoon for lunch. The venue itself is spacious with both restaurant and bar spaces. It’s perfect for families with kids who want to go out for a meal and it’s also a great spot for a group of friends who want to head out for cocktails. It welcomes any kind of experience!
There was so much to choose from the menu, I'm surprised we made our decision as quickly as we did! We ordered a few small plates which included the 'Kingfish Sashimi' served with watermelon radish, seaweed, pomegranate and lemon ponzu. Fresh, beautiful flavours and a great way to start lunch.
Of course, we had to order the 'Burrata' which sat on top of a beautiful tomato and cucumber salad. I also spread the cheese onto this warm garlic bread which was heaven.
Now those 'Wagyu Brisket Tacos' were by far, my favourite dish of the day. There was much flavour in the perfectly cooked, spiced rub brisket and it paired well with the guacamole and chilli mayo. The tortillas were nice and soft, which made it a lot easier to eat. They weren't dry and unpleasant like some 'soft tacos' I've had before. Highly recommend ordering this one!
For mains, we ordered the 'Braised Wagyu Pasta', 'Peach & Prawn Salad' and the 'Truffle Mushroom Pizza'.
The pasta was rich, full of flavour and they were not stingy on the wagyu! The sauce contained butter which made it nice and a little creamy. Definitely a hearty dish!
The 'Peach & Prawn' salad was also delicious. I usually have prawn and mango, but this duo worked too. It also had feta cheese and fennel which are two of my favourite ingredients and made the salad even fresher.
By the time we got to the pizza, it wasn't as hot as when it came out. This is entirely our fault and the only downside to being a food photographer! However, I did get the flavour and it was a good balance since they didn't have too much truffle on it. I ended up heating up the pizza for dinner when I got home and yes, it's a lot better when it's hot and oozy. Some pizzas are great when they're cold but this isn’t one of them!
This is a really beautiful venue and it's done well for one that runs both a restaurant and a bar. Food was really delicious and I hope to come back...
Read moreMy friend and I went and had a meal on a Wednesday evening - booked for 7pm. At 7:30pm extremely LOUD music came on above us and we asked to move because we couldn’t hear each other. The waitress that showed us to a new table didn’t know what was going on, then we noticed there was live entertainment with a couple of scantily clad women dancing (didn’t seem appropriate for the restaurant, different theme etc). The waitress went and found out for us the entertainment was going to go for 40minutes (if we hadn’t already ordered food we would have left and found somewhere else to dine). It was so loud and so distracting, not to mention we were moved to the outside balcony which was freezing with no heaters in our section.
We were then brought the bill straightaway and told we had to pay right now because we were technically outside the restaurant… I said that we would finish our meal first because it was already getting cold after having moved etc. When we went to the counter to pay, they told us they wouldn’t split our bill (it wasn’t complicated, it was literally down the middle In 2 transactions) - we were told they don’t have “authority”. I understand if we were a large group and it was complicated. I said we didn’t have a very pleasant dining experience and got no “sorry” from the man who we were paying - the waitress had been more understanding.
I’m not one to leave a negative review. The food was nice, but to have SUCH loud music to the point everyone was uncomfortable was terrible. We even mentioned it to the table next to us and they said they gave up talking and were just on their phones cause they couldn’t hear each other let alone think.
Not what you would expect on a Wednesday night at 7:30? Perhaps something to put on when everyone has finished their meals on a Friday or Saturday night and people are just drinking and having fun later in the evening…
I was looking forward to dining here because it seemed nice and classy 😔 won’t...
Read moreSome dishes ok but alot are very overpriced for small portions. The scotchfillet steak was $52 and came with a handful of cold fries and a small side salad that consisted of a few mixed lettuce leaves and a couple of cherry tomatoes and the mushroom sauce in a plastic container! The place is a HOT MESS from the booking and having to pay $150 for a semi private table to being told on the night that the booking didn't exist to waiting 1.5hrs for 2 jugs of soft drink to having to chase staff to clear the table, bring cutlery, plates and a knife to cut the bday cake. Not one staff member came to the table to check if everything was ok or if we wanted to order at the table or at the bar. There were 13 of us and I had to play the role of the host running around chasing staff and the supposed manager to get the basics for the table like serviettes and water. Why do they charge $150 to book a table when there is nil customer service? Kelly the manager who took my booking told me there would be someone to help me on the night with my group. Well that didn't happen!! And neither did the correct booking!! The bar staff were all over the place people didn't know which line was for what, there was a 35min wait to order food or get a drink. The music is so loud you can't hear yourself ordering and the front of house woman was rude, unapproachable and unhelpful. There was nil sense of organisation or concern for the customer. It felt like an overpriced pub with horrifically loud MUSIC . DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT. If the custoner service had been on point we could've forgiven the music and disorganization because it was a Saturday and at peak time but to be honest there needs to be a senior person or 3 on the floor directing traffic and ensuring things are running smoothly. The whole thing...
