Whilst we did have a great evening here to see Paul Van Dyk I do concur the bouncers are overzealous. My partner had not had much to drink and was pulled aside as soon as he walked out the male toilets. He was completely confused why and was then asked how much he had to drink and was allowed back in. I would have been most upset if he had been kicked out given I would have been left in the club on my own and we'd both paid $250 each for back stage passes. We have never experienced this at any other venue we have been to or ever been kicked out of anywhere. Quite an upsetting experience. I also think there should be free water stations readily available for patrons as is with comparable venues in the city. I wanted to leave this post as I see many saying bouncers are racist. I don't believe they are racist at all just overzealous and towards the males so perhaps sexist rather than racist a better description.

After numerous occasions visiting the ivy, it seems fitting to provide a summary review. I have enjoyed visiting the ivy pool bar for a work event during the day, and also for drinks and pizza in the evenings 🍸🍕 The concept of the pool bar is unique and attractive, and a great place to bring friends visiting from interstate! There is often DJs and great mood lighting. The vibe is very different night to night depending on the crowd, however. The ideal seats are usually booked, but there are packages you can reserve for a special occasion. We enquired for a hens but didn’t find it an inviting offer for a smaller group. Also worth noting that the dance floor has deteriorated in quality of music and energy post-pandemic, so wouldn’t recommend coming unless you have a large group to start the dance floor with you! On the whole though, ivy is always nice for a drink, but not my preference for dancing 💃🏽

i went here for my first clubbing experience and i absolutely loved it ! it was my girlfriends 19th birthday and we didn’t pay extra for any vip stuff and it was still just as good. the environment, crowd, music, lights, drinks, smoke machines and confetti was just awesome. when it was close to closing at around 2:30 the security guards where walking around with trays full of party pies and sausage rolls for free which was so good, not sure if it’s common as it was my first time but i am not complaining haha. there’s good and bad everywhere and everyday so i'm hoping my next time here will be just as good.

The night started off pretty good! the security were surprisingly very sweet. I was confused because i needed 2 ID’s to get in cuz ive never been clubbing before (fresh 18.) Went in an had a few drinks, danced a bit (music was great) then I went to sit down to treat my blood sugar (type 1 diabetic) because i was wobbly and dizzy. One of the managers or security came up to me and said “can you come with me please” with no context. I panicked at that point i thought i did something wrong- he asked me if i was okay because I was stumbling- i showed him proof that i was diabetic and i was shaky and panicky but hey im just an overly anxious person no fault of theirs- they asked why i was shaky and i told them my blood sugar was low i need sugar and that i was very anxious, i was a bit tipsy wt the time so i was blabbering about being autistic and saying it was loud and i couldn’t focus on the conversation. THIS LOVELY MAN- CAME BACK 5 MINS LATER WITH A CAN OF SPRITE, EARPLUGS AND A WATER BOTTLE!!! To the guy with the funky glasses who is most likely the manager/ thankyou so much for being so kind.

THE REASON why i left 3 stars is because i did get kissed on the cheek and felt up while dancing, sitting down, etc. My first time at this club i got offered coke and got asked for a blowie from this disgusting man. He’s a regular there and im writing this long review so hopefully the mangers will see and get him banned. He was an older man, a regular; i believe he had these tiny glasses on and he is seen constantly taking to young women. I walked away after he offered me coke, kissed me on the cheek when i was leaving in to hear him over the loud music!! Totally uncalled for and disgusting. After that incident i grabbed my friend and told her i needed fresh air- i went outside and started crying, i had a huge panic attack: One of the security guards started following me/ this very kind female worker. She brought me water while i was sitting down and having panic attacks on and off outside the bar. She had curly hair and darker skin, I’m describing her so she hopefully gets recognised and gets a raise!!!

OVERALL: Groping, drug offers, gross men- atmosphere is 1/10 drinks: Expensive but yummy 4/10 Staff: 10/10...

Had the misfortune of dealing with the manager of this establishment last night. After being dropped off with an empty can of beer in my hand and then rather than littering asking the manager where the nearest bin was I was then told I would not be allowed into the establishment tonight. I had taken no sips from the can in the vicinity. It being the first drink of the night I was also very clearly not intoxicated. I tried to stay polite and calm and have a discussion about the options to which he said no matter what you’re not getting into this venue tonight but your friends can without you. He then proceeded to follow myself up the alley to make sure I then did not try and get into any other bars and told door staff complete nonsense about my behaviour. I have no idea what I did that night to make this man have a vendetta against me however, I do wish him the best in life as to act and treat people the way you do (I’ve had a few people say they’ve had issues with him) there must not be whole lot going on other than work to have that much of a power trip about an unsold out club night. I’ve worked in the events industry running club events, festivals and street parties and we always made it our best effort to make sure everyone who wanted to experience our events could and treated them with respect. And people wonder why the night life industry is dying it’s because of managers like this contributing to it. First time a managers been worse than the bouncers (who might I add were...

Ivy wow! What a night you provided. 30 minutes into the concert we came to see my friend was asked to leave due to throwing ice at her friend (a single cube and the gesture was playful) anyways I went with her and we stood in silence with shock after being told she was banned for 6 months for it! Still I had came to terms our night was over, once departed from the elevator I turn around to see my friend attempt to take one last sip of her drink but then violently hit by the security guard. When we exclaimed to not touch us as we have been compliant and this is unnecessary we continued to leave to then feel a violent push on both our backs almost Causing us to collapse. This was a final line as we had been completely compliant at this stage and were walking away from the venue when hands were raised at us. I turned around asking not to touch us and exclaiming how not okay this behaviour was. To then be met by management who informed me “they can touch us however they want” and “it is there right” yet we had not resisted the ATL. Voices were raised and insults were made on both parties. Which is upsetting it came to this because we honestly just wanted recognition for what was happening yet continued to be told they have the right to use physical force with us (we were not resisting the situation was completely unsafe) The behaviour was absolutely appalling from the Halo security group and seeing from reviews this isn’t the first story, how upsetting to be notorious for...
