We had a super awesome time at this place. After talking to one of the employees, we ended up going straight to Mission 2, thinking that Mission 1 would be too easy. I'm really glad we were able to do that - It felt just difficult enough to be fun and challenging. We were offered a chance to try their Mission 3 on that day, but decided against it for our first time, since they did mention that it was slightly buggy (which yes, it was, but we also somehow got a bug in Mission 2, but such is life). After completing our first session, we booked a session for the following day to do "Are We Dead?" (mission 3). When we showed up for that session, the employees on staff weren't yet briefed on the mission, so they had to end up calling someone back to work to run us through it. Isaac was SUPER awesome for coming back and running us through the mission, but it was a bit disappointing that there wasn't anyone there to run us through it in the first place. The only thing I would suggest would be to add a way to select the mission you want to do when you're booking either on the website or through an employee at the venue and then perhaps have the opportunity to discuss it when you get there for the actual session - I think this would have alleviated any confusion about which mission we wanted to do and who needed to be there in order to administer it. I understand that the mission in question wasn't released yet, but it was offered for us to play and we booked our second session for that mission in particular. All in all, this place is absolutely amazing, the employees go above and beyond to correct anything, and the missions that we ended up doing were super fun. If you're not new to gaming mechanics or gaming puzzle solving, I would suggest trying to skip to mission 2 - I'm very...
Read moreInteresting experience. A lot of potential to be great. If not for the novelty of the experience I'm not sure it would be worth the effort. Unfortunately, the novelty and the staff were the only good things about it. When we arrived we were told that due to an issue with the computers we would have to leave and come back later. It would have been better if we had been notified before we arrived. A call or a text message prior to our arrival would have been a sign of proactive customer service rather than us arriving only to be told that we should come back in half an hour.
The staff were good and I'm sure were doing their best but it felt that they were a little inexperienced and just expected the customer to deal with it. It was not the best first impression. Once we were in the session it had to be restarted a couple of times (twice, i think). The rooms are also not sound proofed. Standing on the moon or in a tomb in ancient Egypt and hearing a bunch of people in the waiting area laughing and joking kind of takes away from the immersion factor. We went using a Groupon voucher which made it a little easier to deal with. I don't think I would go back if I had to pay full price. Hopefully, we just got...
Read moreInteresting experience plagued by technical errors/glitches
We attended as a group of 3 friends familiar with gaming on our first VR experience. The experience was an interesting introduction into VR and it had plenty of potential. It was great to be able to interact with my friends who were in separate rooms. The visuals were nice and the experience could have been immersive if it were not for the technical difficulties.Unfortunately I had frequent screen glitches/lag where the image did not seamlessly display (eg. I would turn my head and the image would jump/screen tear and would take a few seconds to stabilise) - my friends also had this but to a much lesser extent. It was also quite annoying when the system glitched and I had to try several times to drop items. The staff apologised and said the glitching should not have happened - but that doesn't make up for the fact that I paid for an experience which didn't work as advertised/expected. Would have been 4 or 5...
