His Lid Barber + Lid Espresso Bar — Attraction in Western Australia

Firstly, i found you guy's on Instagram and told my boyfriend that we had to check this place out.... Was so excited leading up to the day. Walked in and was greeted with smiles from the guy's behind the counter which kindly offered my partner and i a coffee. The coffee was amazing! Great job to the guy making the drinks! Unfortunately, this is where it takes a deep dive... I greeted my hairdresser with excitement as she approached my chair, in return i received a half ass "Hi" back. Decided maybe she's having a bad day, but unfortunately it didn't get any better. Awkward silence and didn't seem interested in making any small talk or even cutting my hair for that matter. finished my fade, and i kindly asked if i could have the fade a little higher, NO LIE. She turned her head to the staff member next to us and rolled her eyes and said with such a nasty attitude "ok, i'll do the cut all over again" . She then started to put more pressure on the comb which seemed a bit aggressive and was uncomfortable. I know i should have said something, but i was in such shock over the experience and felt confused on what to say, as i've never been treated like this before as a customer..... I'm leaving this review in the hope that you'll think twice before treating another customer so badly. Perth is a very small town and experiences like this can damage a business. Furthermore, after paying $55 each i still need to book into another hairdresser to hopefully fix this mess on my head before work on Monday. I work in a design studio in the CBD and normally receive many complements on my hair, not sure this will be the case on Monday. 2 stars is...

Pros - Down to earth and friendly staff with great coffee. Cons - they don't wash hair, its just a cut n shave shop which makes it hard to cut my thick hair. I wouldn't recommend if you're someone who has high maintenance hair or super fussy and needs more attention to detail as they work by the clock, which ins't bad, its just not what I needed. I'm someone who cares a lot about my hair and if people don't notice my cut or compliment it, it kills me inside (its another 3 weeks till the next cut).

I had high hopes from reading all the 5 star reviews and I would give 2.5 stars because I think 3 is a little too generous. If the team could just spend that extra time and not push customers through the door you guys would have happier clients and better quality, I just couldn't help but feel rushed and as a result not the greatest cut especially for the price. Where to start on how good this place is.

From the moment you walk into 'His Lid' you can't help but be embraced by the warmth and friendliness of the girls Becci and Zara.

The His Lid experience starts with a big smile and offer of a cold beer / scotch or whatever takes your fancy - how good!

One can't help feel genuinely accepted into this barbering meecah with its rustic and very cool decor. Along with kicking music in the background the place makes you feel welcome!

And finally for the art of hair cutting, both Becci and most recently Zara,are both artists!

They have both been to turn my rude melon into something my mother would be proud of.
