If you're planning a trip to Linz, Austria, the Linz Main Square is an absolute must-visit destination! I recently had the pleasure of spending time in this charming and historic square, and I couldn't have been more delighted with the experience.

Linz Main Square, also known as "Hauptplatz," is a vibrant hub of culture, history, and local life. The architecture is simply breathtaking, with stunning medieval buildings that take you back in time and create a unique atmosphere. The colorful facades and ornate details provide the perfect backdrop for memorable photos.

One of the highlights of the square is the impressive Holy Trinity Column, which stands tall and proud in the center. Its intricate design and historical significance add to the overall allure of the place.

As you stroll through the square, you'll find an array of charming cafes, restaurants, and shops. It's the perfect spot to indulge in a cup of coffee and some delicious Austrian pastries while soaking in the lively ambiance. Don't miss the chance to savor local delicacies and immerse yourself in Linz's culinary delights.

The square is also an excellent starting point for exploring other attractions nearby, such as the Linz Castle and the Lentos Art Museum. You can easily spend a full day in the area, making wonderful memories and experiencing the best that Linz has to offer.

What truly impressed me was the friendliness of the locals. They are welcoming and proud of their city, always ready to offer recommendations and share stories about Linz's rich history.

Whether you're a history buff, a culture enthusiast, or simply looking for a charming place to relax and enjoy the local vibes, Linz Main Square should be at the top of your itinerary. I highly recommend adding this gem to your travel plans. Trust me; you won't be disappointed!

I liked Linz very much, I was on a Danube cruise so walked from the ship into town. I found a little tourist train which I boarded for 9 Euros. The train starts it's journey from the old side of the bridge, which I hasten to add was the nicest but we did go across the bridge to the newer side to give an insight into the both sides! I as I said preferred the older side which had a huge square and lots of shops an querky alley ways with shops and cafe's which led off in other directions. It had some very nice architecture which I noticed through the whole of my Danube cruise, which was fantastic.
