It was a surprise!Good food and reasonable price(around 40€ for 2)!Service was nice, they gave me an English menu when they realized we're speaking English. I highly recommend Mango lassi! It was the best I ever had. I in general do not like spicy food nor Indian food. But I gave it a try out of curiosity and it's worthy. I had Naam in Singapore and it is what I always liked, so I was hoping to get the same here. We ordered an appertize, "Papardam" which was crispy crackers with 3 different sauces. For main, we had "Seekh Kebab" and "Bhuna Goasht" The mango sauce with papardam is quite intetesting, the white sauce is spicy, it's after taste is strong. We prefered Bhuna Goasht(non spicy) over Seekh Kebab(spicy) because Seekh Kebab was pretty dried. In contrast, Bhuna Goasht, the lamb was tender, nicely marinated with onion and tomato sauce. Even though it's non spicy dish, it is actually still a bit spicy but it's mild enough for me to be able to finish and enjoy the dish. We had naam(one portion with garlic) instead of rice. I was slightly disappointed it wasn't what I was hoping to get(that's the reason for 4 but not 5🌟), but yet it was tasty and I liked it. And personally I like the normal one without garlic better. But I recommend the garlic one if you're a garlic fan. It was a nice experience and I see myself...
Read moreThis restaurant doesn't deserve one star We are a group of tourists (coming from Vienna to Linz), and on [15 of September2025], we visited Zafran – Indian Restaurant. We were three people (my friend, a guest, and myself). We ordered our meals, ate, and then asked for the bill.
At that moment, an elderly man (who appeared to be a staff member or manager) came to us looking visibly stressed. I politely asked him to split the bill into two parts since we were hosting our guest. He suddenly raised his voice and said: “Why didn’t you say this from the beginning?” I replied that it was not a problem, as I would pay in cash and my friend would pay by card. He responded angrily: “I am busy, I don’t have time for you.” Then he shouted: “42 euros each” in a very rude manner.
He then said: “This is Austria, not Saudi Arabia,” in a way that was offensive and disrespectful to us as tourists. After that, he used very inappropriate and vulgar language, told us to leave the restaurant, and continued speaking in an impolite and aggressive way.
This incident was insulting and highly unprofessional, especially in a place that should...
