⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Bastione di Saint Remy in Cagliari is an absolute must-visit! This amazing structure offers spectacular views right in the heart of the city. I was captivated by the incredible sunsets each night, which were truly breathtaking. The atmosphere is enhanced by pleasant live music often played by local musicians, adding to the charm of the experience. The area feels very safe, making it a comfortable place to visit at any time. I visited the Bastione di Saint Remy three times during my stay in Cagliari, and each visit was more memorable than the last. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy stunning views, a delightful ambiance, and the best sunsets in the city!

The name derives from the first Piedmontese viceroy, Filippo-Guglielmo Pallavicini, baron of Saint Remy. At the end of the nineteenth century it was monumentally transformed into a staircase, surmounted by the Arc de Triomphe, which gives access to a covered promenade and a large panoramic terrace. It was built at the end of the 19th century on the ancient walls of the city, dating back to the beginning of the 14th century, linking together the three southern bastions of the Mint, of Santa Caterina and of the Sperone, to join the Castello district with those below of Villanova and Marina.

This landmark structure makes a good part of a sight seeing visit if you are in Cagliari. At the bottom of the structure you will be able to see the limestone archway. It is under renovation at the moment (April 2019) there are a few cafes at the bottom Remy and cafe Antico both are nice and have good customer service. At the top you will be able to see great views of the city, a great photo opportunity. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in a break to the city.

Beautiful view from the top, couple of steps to take to get up there. There is a nice looking restaurant/bar on the top as well, we went there in the morning so they were not open. They have hammocks and big beds too, looked amazing. You can take the same step to get down or there's an exit the opposite way so you get behind the bastione. Worth going that way too, beautiful narrow streets and it leads you to Via Stretta as well.

I never anticipated discovering such a magnificent and stunning historical monument. It is exceptionally unique and well-maintained. It features a sizable patio with seating so you can sit and take in the sunset while having a view, and it provides a lovely panoramic view of Cagliari. You will love this place especially if you like exploring. In conclusion, if you ever visit Cagliari for your vacation, this place is a must.
