This was a surprisingly interesting museum. I had no great expectations however the museum showcases Bolivia's indigenous musical traditions through an extensive collection of over 2,000 instruments, including flutes made from volcanic rock and guitars crafted from armadillo shells. That was incredibly interesting as were the interactive areas where we had a bit of a try of the traditional instruments. The museum was established in 1962 and although we missed it, there are concerts on Saturdays.

Nice, Small, cheap (5bob I recall). You can try playing on some of them. Worth a visit (1h approx.)

We arrived at the museum at 1pm. At 1.15pm, we were informed that the museum would be closing at 1.30pm and would reopen at 2.30pm. We asked, can we resume our visit then. We were told, you will need to buy another ticket. Now, upon entry to the museum, we interacted with two different staff members: one that sold us the tickets, and one that validated our tickets. Neither had the professionalism, or decency, to advise us of the hours or even less of this ridiculous policy. Had they informed to us at the time of entry, we certainly would have come back for the afternoon session as the 3 rooms (out of 15) we were able to see were fantastic. At 5bob a ticket, it sure is cheap, but the treatment and lack of service we received left us feeling very disappointed and cheated, and we certainly were not going to buy new tickets. Señora Antonieta/management, I suggest you review your policy, or at the very least, make sure it is clearly communicated to clients...

Rien d...
