We did two stays here during our Bolivia trip. The first was an early arrival and overnight (our flight arrived at 6am - so we had early checkin and that same night). We went to Sun Island for a night then came back for our second stay - an afternoon arrival before flying out the next day.||The best part about this hotel is the location. It's near two squares/ plazas that were cool to walk to for some good people watching. We didn't have a car and this hotel was booked by our tour operator. A second positive was a friendly staff. When the property owner doesn't maintain the property, that's not the staffs fault. They were doing their best and I am grateful. I also appreciated the US-able plugs so I didn't need an adapter! 8-)||I would actively avoid this hotel in the future. ||Room #1 - Our first room was absurdly hot and facing a main square. Between the people noise and car horns until 2am, you couldn't open the windows AND sleep. They need to put fans in the room. ||Room #2 - This was a suite, which had a living room with a lot of space. However, it reached with a scent like bug spray. That made us even more worried that something would tag along in our bag. ||Restaurant - We did "breakfast" here both days and tried it for dinner. We don't eat eggs, and a hot omelette right and been good. Aside from that, the pastry and other stuff was very underwhelming. We basically didn't eat breakfast. ||Overall property is VERY rundown. The carpet in the hallways, the marks all over the hallway walls, and the overall decor are horribly in need up an update. Even a fresh coat of paint would help. If you ONLY want to use this hotel to sleep and shower, think of it like a motel. I wouldn't...

Well it a 5 star hotel so you would think it was be perfect, sorry to say it's not. The room was lovely though the tv was only in the bedroom and not in the living room too. Also with internet connections of 5mbps uploading a simple picture would take hours if it didn't fail. The gym and pool area looked lovely, the pool was nice and warm with a diving board you need to be very careful to use as the pool isn't long enough or deep enough to be safely dived into. The sauna was too hot and the wet room to cold, but the worse by far was the hot tub. We arrived on monday to be told the pool/hot tub were closed for cleaning yet on the Tuesday when we got in the hot tub the filters spat black parts out ruining the hot tub completely, so much for a cleaning the day before. We were on the 14th floor so the views were amazing but I doubt it would be enough to make us return...

| Hotel Presidente, at Potosi 920, La Paz, BO; is very centrally located. It is walking distance to Witches market, and major squares like Plaza Mayor and Plaza Murrillo; and the Art Museum. The tariff was very affordable, and on par with mid-range hotels in major cities in other parts of the world.||We arrived early morning in la Paz, the hotel front desk checked us in; and also allowed us to have the buffet breakfast. The breakfast was decent; we are used to much more elaborate fare in Singapore/Bangkok and other cities in Asia.||The hotel bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and the hot water was instantly available; unlike other hotel reviews I read online. The view from the room is more beautiful at night as it shows the lit up hills.||The front desk staff and the people at the door were very helpful with arranging...

The service at the front desk was excellent, and the location was great for a tourist. Close to museums and government buildings. I would gladly stay here again. The reception kindly helped me with changes to my reservation, transportation, and laundry. For a five-star room, I would like to see new doors, walls, windows and flooring throughout the property. The 1980’s lobby really needs a remodel. The restaurant staff was super helpful. I really appreciate the fact that breakfast was ready at 04:00. The pool was not really available for hotel guests in the afternoons: kids swimming lessons. I suppose I could have entered, but it was not comfortable to me.

Service was top notch. We really loved the the included breakfast. We were allowed to get a late checkout so we could shower after a walking city tour. They stored our bags for our late flight. Rooms were functional but a little outdated. Also rooms appear to have heaters, but not AC. If it’s warm, shut your curtains during the day. There is a window in our rooms (1102&1103) which helps cool things down at night. If you have kids, be careful. It’s a big window with no screen.
