We've played other virtual escape rooms and we enjoyed it all! This is really the only way we can spend time with our loved ones and the escape rooms are something that brings all of us together, especially during Covid. With that being said, we did Twisted Woods and was so excited as it was our friend's first time trying it out. We gifted them the escape room experience for Christmas and there were 6 of us that played, it was $149.16 in total for an hour. We clearly did not get MANDY as our host, I really wish we did because the host we had was extremely rude towards us when our systems were lagging. He barely guided us and did not mention that we're allowed to ask for hints until our time ran out. If you see the group taking longer than expected, why not offer the help? Like I said, this wasn't the first escape room for us and if you're reading this, make sure to ask for Mandy because the host makes a huge difference when doing the virtual escape room. Ours was not approachable, did not give us time to think about our clues much and just kept reminding us how much time we have left. Not only that we were all trying to work together but couldn't possibly do that with a host that gave us the vibe that he didn't want to be there. Other than that, the room itself was awesome and we loved the clues.
We understand that holidays are busy for you but it showed that he never enjoyed being a host. He did not make it fun, we were trying to joke around with him and he wasn't really engaged in our convo. At one point, we asked him to open a lock and he was obviously not paying attention and his response was "Sorry? What was that?" We were looking through the link for a couple of minutes and it seemed like he was on his phone and texting during that time. What am I paying for? Laggy systems featuring a horrible host. Our friends and I did not even get a chance to take a photo at the end and usually the host offers to do that even for in person escape rooms.
Our host quickly showed us how we could have escaped and left as soon as it hit 8:40 (We started at 7:40) He even said that he has to go now because he's gonna have to get himself stuck again soon and ended the chat for everyone without us being able to say goodbye to each other šIs that a cry for help? Is nobody helping you put the rooms back together? Were you fighting with your girl during the escape room experience? Why are you so miserable? I spoke with a girl on the phone to inquire before playing and she sounded super helpful and was a pleasure to speak with, I did have high hopes with their customer service because of that initial experience. Maybe she set the bar too high on the phones. Mandy? Was that you? Lol.
Thank you for accommodating our last minute booking since we booked the day of, it just feels like the company didn't fully prepare for our group and was too exhausted to continue. I hope this feedback helps you really prepare and choose your host wisely, it's crucial for your business especially with the virtual experience. I'm quite embarrassed to have shared this virtual experience with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here tonight and played the Witches of Everdale with my boyfriend.
Firstly they ask you show up 20 min in advance (fair) however when we got there I was standing waiting at the desk for the better part of 15 min, I would say they were busy but an employee passed me 3 times without acknowledging me at all. (He looked like a tall 20 something year old) Maybe he was on break, but he didn't even let anyone know that I was waiting. Not to be cliche but I've worked all my life in the service industry and even on my worst day I would still at the very least let another employee know someone was waiting.
I could see somewhat into the back room where all the employees were and made eye contact with another employee but she just looked away and continued talking to another employee that wasn't currently a game master. She was clearly in the middle of monitoring a room so I understand her not coming to help, but it's the fact that no one asked a free employee to help the client at the desk. For a rather expensive experience I would expect better service, at the very least a hello/welcome. Finally when we rang the service bell because it was obvious no one was going to come help of their own initiative the man was pleasant enough but at that point I was already agitated.
The escape room itself was fine. It was pretty easy, even for 2 people we finished it with 18 minutes to spare, we probably would've finished even faster but my boyfriend had trouble with the magnets (not the room's fault, user error haha) I think it would be fun for kids for sure.
Would I say it was worth the money as an adult? not really, I've seen more interesting escape rooms before that felt more challenging and had nicer/more attentive staff.
The only absolutely great part about this experience was Namita (hope I'm spelling it right). She was a gem, she was great at explaining everything and I even noticed after the game was over that she was the only one greeting people as they came in.
I would give 5 stars just for her because I think she's great, but the first employee just set the tone too crappy from the get go.
TLDR: Namita: 100/10 Man that finally helped us: 10/10 Man that actively ignored me 3 times LMAO: -100/10 Actual escape room: 4/10 Lounge: 7/10 (there was no paper towel in the bathroom so I just had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was THE BEST escape room I have ever done... heres why! As soon as we entered the staff greeted us with joy and positivity. They all seemed like cool fun people who know what their doing! Secondly the lobby was really cool the gift shop has some really cool things to check out and purchase. Experience: Shanze was the host and she was awesome, from her scare acting to her creepy voice.. She really enhanced the experience. I was with my two friends, and we chose to do the Twisted Woods escape room, (no spoilers) it was scary (we opted for a live actor which happens upon request and availability) , there were loud sounds, the theming was disney level, everything about the room did not feel like were in real life. I promise you it felt like you were in an actual movie. The room had really cool and well thought out puzzles... It was pretty difficult especially with the added stress and pressure of a live actor and we did not make it out on time, but I truly recommend you try it. It has some creepy stuff! In the end they went above and beyond and fillmed our reactions - which may not happen to everyone but (speaking of that, they have a huge control booth, its like a 911 dispatch center, they can track everything we do and say which is nice because they can help us out when were stuck on puzzles without asking them. Over all once we finished they were nice enough to offer us some snacks and we finished the day with a nice scare, a wonderful experience and a smile on our faces. I am beyond exited to come back here and check out New Havens, their scarier room. Once again, thank you to the team for such a...
