Starsky Grocery Store has fresh produce, fruits, vegetables, meats and freshly baked breads and buns. This store has an Olive/Pickle bar that you can help yourself, delicious assortment of cakes and cheesecakes, a dairy section, fresh cheese, a frozen section of appetizers, all kinds of beverages, European chocolates and candy, dry foods, canned and marinated goods, deli meat offering all the best salamis, pepperonies, fish, prepared salads, and hot foods! If you like to have coffee with pampushky (donuts) you are permitted to sample. This store has dry herbs, European flour and baking needs. Shopping experience is extremely pleasant. The Starsky staff is always welcoming and extremely helpful. My dear father went shopping at Starsky where he collapsed. Starsky store immediately called 911 and paramedics promptly brought him to Trillium Hospital, a nearby hospital. The Drohobycky family is grateful to Starsky Grocery Store for their immediate response, compassion and help they offer their elderly customers. Their is a huge parking lot and Mississauga transit stops in front of Staples and Starsky Grocery Store Mississauga @ Dundas St E.! I love this store for their European selections, clean store and awesome shopping experience. Please try out Starsky Grocery...

The store at 3115 Dundas Street West, Mississauga is the cleanest grocery store I have ever been in. I have been shopping at this store for over 8 years, and I will never go anywhere else. Not only is the produce incredibly fresh, the meat, seafood, cheese and deli are also 100% prime! Their prepared hot food station has an incredible selection of delicious options that are (clearly) made with love. I grew up in a Hungarian home, and watched my grandmother prepare wonderful meals...the Starsky hot food station reminds me of that. Every single person that works at the 3115 Dundas Street West store is unbelievably friendly and professional. The produce managers and team, Nadia and her team in the cheese section, the wonderful people at the check out lines, the efficient group at the hot food station and the lovely Customer Service team that provide endless smiles when I purchase my lottery ticket. This is how much I love and appreciate this store....I live (literally) across the street from a Metro, and I take a 20 minute bus ride every single week to Starsky Foods. It doesn't matter if it's raining or snowing. If I'm going to buy food, prepare and eat it, it has to be from the best place. And I'm honest when I say that is Starsky...

Starsky stands alone at the peak of the Euro-grocery store mountain, any "competition" far behind. It is an institution; a Mecca for anyone searching out a taste of back home or for some specialty ingredients. Easily the best deli counter in the city, and a top-tier cheese counter as well. Closest comparison to this place might be Yummy Market, but Starsky is far better. The fruits and veg are generally of very high quality as well. The hot table is a guilty pleasure of mine, but can be highly inconsistent. Oftentimes the foods can be extremely dry and crumbly from sitting out for too long, but when they're fresh, they're great and, in my opinion, among the best deals in the city (for the lunch combos). Very generous portions for something like $8... find me a better deal. All made fresh in house, no less. You'd be hard-pressed to cover all that's great about this place in one review, because there's just so much to cover... their cakes, their dairy products, the bakery, the spices, pickled things, condiments, etc., etc. It's all top-notch. I also love the dated vibe and typical Eastern Bloc demeanour of many of the older workers. It's probably my favourite market in the city, for which I make the 45 min trek once a week-...

If you decide to shop at Starsky be aware of the expired or spoiled deli products. I recently purchased some sliced cheese, checked the best before date, everything was ok from the glance. Upon returning home and opening the plastic wrap I found out that the cheese has mold on the side. It was ether repacked to “re-start” best before date or someone tried to cut the mold from sides to avoid throwing in it to garbage. Anyway, I had to toss the whole pack away to prevent other products from contamination. I made a few photos in order to present photos several days later to the store manager to get a refund. But my request was denied. As per manager’s explanation, I should’ve bring the product for a refund. He doesn’t care that I could not keep the spoiled product for several days and drive it in my car during the hot summer day. As a long-term customer for past 6 years, I was very disappointed of the customers service level decline and store efforts to sell spoiled products.

Just bought there some beef tenderloin for a specific dish that is served raw, so the meat has to be fresh. I asked for a fresh piece and was told to wait 10 min since the one on display didn't look well. After I paid $22 for less then a pound of meat I found that it was only made to look nice on the outside. Looks like it was dipped in fresh blood to look good but was all dark and not particularly fresh smelling on the inside. Whatever it was dipped in also rubbed on the paper- you could see red stain liquid that didnt look like it could ever drip from a good piece of beef tenderloin. Not going to drive over 20 km one way to return it, but I am extremely disappointed. Those practices shouldnt take place in any store. Makes you wonder what else is going on in that store.

I usually enjoy Eastern European markets, but Starsky Fine Foods didn’t quite meet my expectations. I drove about 50 minutes to check it out. The variety of products is definitely large, especially Polish goods, but not much stood out as unique or special. While some staff were friendly, the overall vibe and atmosphere just weren’t inviting or enjoyable. It felt more like a warehouse-style grocery store than a unique cultural market experience. I found the prices on the higher side, and the quality didn’t really justify the cost. I ended up spending around $300 CAD without buying anything substantial or memorable. If you're nearby, it’s worth browsing. But for those making a longer trip, there are better Eastern European markets out there that offer more charm and value.
