Love McBain for variety of reasons, pool etc. Reception staff pleasant and life guards and instructors lovely. Downside... A senior centre where seniors pay $180 annually for pool pass. These passes are rarely checked at all so why bother. That worries me because of security issues, anyone has access to changing areas, you walk in front door and walk past reception and no one asks a question. There are barriers at stairs, and access card required for elevator to seniors area but anyone can access changing areas and pool so again why charge $180 for those of us who are honest enough to buy them and why no discount for seniors. Secondly female changing rooms are just awful, awful. They are run down and grimy. The shower areas, curtains, floors need a deep clean weekly. This past week couldn't even get soap from soap dispenser. Thirdly events are not being posted in timely fashion. I got e mail yesterday for event yesterday, not first time that I've missed something. There are lovely events for seniors in upper area but many of us are on our own and find it difficult to walk into strange events alone. I would love to see management arrange a buddy system once a month to help newcomers to...
Read moreGreat safe place to experience a handful of activities. I mainly go to their pool. The pool schedule is posted online & it's accurate. There's 2 pools, a lane pool with sectioned off lanes and an open pool for recreational use that isn't very deep, perfect for families and kids.
Their indoor court hosts basketball, badminton, and volleyball. This is just the few activities I've seen.
There are multiple rooms too each hosting their different activities such as functional / strength exercises, yoga, and more.
There's an indoor run track right above the basketball court. However I don't recommend this track for distance or fast-paced runs. It's only 200m long with 3 lanes, one for walk, one for run, and one for overtaking. I recommend the track for slow pace, or rehab work.
Their frontdesk is very helpful, feel free to come in...
Read moreWas better under ymca under city management its awful
The park is great amenities are good the one star is for managment swimming lessons and instructors and program manager samantha
They are great at wasting class time all that instructors do is throw rings for the kids to pick from under water and roll from the side of the pool and they teach them no skills what so ever and the end they fail the kids for not learning how to swim by themselves
No one overlooks so basically instructors are just kids playing wasting time they dnt communicate with the students dissociated and absent minded and at the end they fail the kids and destroy their excitment and love for swimming
Waste of time and money and good way to kill ur childs talent
No accountabilty absolute disgrace awful management too bad there...
