Probably the worst service I've experienced in Toronto. I was hugely disappointed with this restaurant, mainly because of the service. We felt fortunate to have a table when we arrived on Sunday during brunch, it was the right time as about 5 tables cleared after we sat. Then we sat for at least 10 mins before anyone acknowledged we were there. He didn't say "hi" or any sort of greeting, but said, "want coffee." We gave him our order worried it would be another 10 mins before someone else came back. The food came surprisingly quick, delivered by someone else and before our beer. It was fine, nothing amazing, but good enough for brunch. We finished eating, then sat with out dirty plates in front of us for about another 10 mins. The restaurant wasn't busy and we counted at least 4 servers and a host working, and the patio was closed because of the off and on showers. During our time with dirty plates in front of us, another table was sat beside us, a father and son. They also waited at least 10 mins before anyone came to see them. He flagged down the host, who was actually very good, and got angry for the wait. She told someone and delivered them their coffees. Again they waited and waited, and no one came to take their order. In anger, they got up and left. Our horrible server, saw them leave and asked the host, "did they pay!?" She gave a wave suggesting it's fine. I was so appalled to see that he knew they left abruptly, yet never once went to go take their order in 15 mins or more. It's a cute place, but I won't go back. We see locals and were "tourists in Toronto" this weekend. We ate out a lot from Leslieville to Little Italy, where every bar and restaurant we tried was fantastic with wonderful service. Anyone who calls Toronto home knows how great our restaurants are and service, this bistro is not one of them.
I would like to start by saying that I absolutely adore Peter Pan Bistro. Through my 4+ years of experience of dining in this restaurant I’ve only had positive experiences both with the amazing food and also with the friendly and welcoming staff. However, my dining experience tonight has left me feeling a bit sad and disappointed. This is to say that the food we ordered was delicious. The winter salad is a must try and the special truffle pasta was delicious. I brought my friend who came to Toronto all the way across the world hoping and being sure to have a positive dinner experience. The server was unfortunately really impolite from the start. We asked her what her recommendation would be for the dinner menu tonight and she dismissed us by saying that it was up to us and that “everyone prefers a different dish” which we obviously know but were keen to have her opinion as well. The cutlery was basically thrown at the table and we were a bit shocked. while we were trying to finish our shareable salad (talking and having pauses while eating) she came to take the unfinished plate and we told her that we were still working on it but she acted as she had to take the plate before our main dish arrived. She kept on referring to us as “sweetie” and we didn’t really appreciate her tone. In the end after our bill came she didn’t even say goodnight and disregarded us. I would’ve really liked to have spoken to someone before we left rather than writing this long review but we weren’t able to see anyone when we left. I’m left disappointed with the attitude. I would gladly be returning back for the amazing breakfast but this is my honest positive feedback. I understand that everyone might be having difficult days but we were only trying to have a pleasant dinner after all. And seeing her acting incredibly positive and cheerful to other tables left us...
Read moreI truly believe this place is a hidden gem for the perfect intimate event. In our case, it was our small wedding of 24 people. We booked the 2nd floor space in 2019 in hopes of getting married in 2020. Peter Pan Bistro remained extremely accommodating with two date changes and kept an open communication with us throughout the whole process. We started the planning for our wedding with someone else in charge of events. As of 2021, Steph White was our new events coordinator. Steph was extremely detailed in finding out how we wanted our day captured and truly went above and beyond! She was incredibly professional, kind and flexible to make our wedding day as seamless as possible. She made suggestions for the start time of the ceremony, when to sit down for dinner and so on that just turned out impeccably perfect! We completely trusted her with her guidance. Steph is very experienced with coordinating events that are intimate and she truly catered to the needs of our guests, specifically our grandparents. Steph was extremely accommodating with emails, phone calls, video chats to make sure our wedding day was flawless. Steph made sure our dinner table was set as we've discussed, however we believe she genuinely exceeded our expectations! The details were truly stunning! She was exceptionally flexible with last minute dietary requests. Steph and the team truly made our wedding day an unforgettably intimate gathering. The food was delicious and the service was immaculate! We would recommend Peter Pan in a heartbeat! We thank Steph and Peter Pan for the incredible service and for making our day an extraordinary affair!
