Overall a nice place to come with young kids, wouldn't want to come with older ones though. Did a groupon special which worked out to 200.00 a night with taxes, not bad for 2 adults and 3 kids. Room has 2 queens and a bunk bed so more beds then we need. Room is clean, newer tv and not a bad channel selection, wifi seems average. The water park is great for my age range 3, 5 and 7; the largest slide requires parents to go down with the kids at their height which is fine but the two older can do the body slide and the youngest has two small slides he just doesn't seem to get sick of. The wave pool can get a little rough for all of them but only for short periods of time. The place is also small enough to keep track of all of them, one parent can stay with the youngest where he can play while the other can do the tube slide with one while keeping an eye on the other who can solo the large body slides. There's also always someone at the base of the body slides so I don't have to feel unsafe about not being there myself. Also went on an odd day during the week so lines were short and easy, if the local schools were on vacation I suspect it would get too full way too quickly. As others have noted, the cost of the food is very high here, dominos delivers here for a lot less and we brought drinks and snacks with us. After a couple of hours its easy to convince the kids to leave with promises to return later so leaving for lunch, dinner or a snack isn't a big deal and is a good way to go. I expect I'll make another trip here next year and probably the year following but after that the kids will be old enough that this place will be too small and we'll need bigger, but for younger kids...
Read moreIts not my first time here, I have 2 kids, one is 6 and the other is 4, i always say this is the best hotel to stay in as the water passes are included with a room booking which makes it totally worth it and it's just perfect for kids upto age of 12 i would say. I have to be fair here with my review, the last 4 times we visted the waves water park, the water warmth level was just perfect for the kids and us parents, but this time when I last went on March 31st it was really cold, my kids and I were shivering the whole time, I asked 3 times and told them that the water is cooler than it usually is, I got the same reply from all, it's set on auto on a certain temperature level and when it get cooler the heater goes back on (it fluctuates). I dont know what they were talking about, it was obvious they did not care to check or to tell someone about this problem, I was not the only one who complained about the water level. Us as parents we have to be comfortable with the water to stay in it and watch the kids at least! I left early as my kids reached a point were they dont want to swim anymore, so they ruined our day, I drove 2 hours for nothing, I dont think I will be back if it's a hit or miss type of thing, I am paying way more than a regular hotel for the water park because it as a hotel is not the best at all. Like I understand things go wrong, but when we complain at least take the effort to check and do...
Read moreWe went on a winter weekend with younger kids (5yo and 1.5yo).
Surprisingly the waterpark was never too crowded on the two days we went. Overall the park is quite small though but my kids were entertained.
Unfortunately the toddler pool was always very cold, to a point where my 1.5yo was shivering on and off. Not sure why this pool is kept the coldest. The slide has jets that were so powerful, even though my youngest is as tall as a 2yo, we had to help her get on the slide. Otherwise there were no other pools she could really use safely unless we were holding her. Often, older kids would get in the toddler pool so you need to keep your littles within an arm's reach for safety.
There were floor drains that had hair and dust coming out of them; next day, the hair was still there. It would have taken a staff member a few seconds to clean the drain but maybe that's not in their routine.
The arcade had most games working but we had a lot of issues with machines not giving out tickets, the skee ball game not having any balls, etc. We often had to go to the workers there to get tickets or refunded coins. Their ticket counting machine was also not working but apparently their scale would underestimate the amount of tickets. The prizes are underwhelming but my kids enjoyed the arcade.
Overall we had fun but we would only come again if there was...
