Let me start by saying I have ALWAYS hated fish and chips. Couldnāt stand itā¦.and I would be miserable when my husband wanted to order it (one of his favourite meals). I would be the goofball who would order the burger, or ANYTHING else off the menu in a fish a chip shop because I just couldnāt handle eating soggy, greasy, gross breaded fish!!!. Then we moved to the falls (around the corner from Lakeport Fish &Chips) a couple years ago. EVERYTHING CHANGED!!! During our unpacking my husband picked up two Halibut dinners from Lakeport so I wouldnāt have to cook. We fought over his choice of dinnerā¦but then⦠OMG!!!!!!! MIND BLOWN!!!! I had NEVER had anything so good in my life!! Iām not exaggerating!!! The fish was exceptional, fresh, super crispy, and soooooo delicious! Itās now a staple meal in our home 2-3 times a month. I still HATE fish & chips from literally ANYWHERE else, but I CRAVE the Halibut dinner from Lakeport. Seriously outstanding quality and unbelievably delicious. Itās become one of my favourite take out meals and itās often MY choice for dinner!! Itās really saying something when a restaurant can take your most dreaded, disliked mealā¦and turn it into one of your most LOVED!!!! You seriously have to try the halibut!!! I know itās a little pricier, but worth EVERY PENNY!!! You definitely canāt go wrong getting your fish and chips from Lakeport!!! Highly, highly recommended!! Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrdered over $100 worth of food for delivery and was told it would take 1 hour. 2 hours later the food arrived cold with items that were ordered missing. There were no napkins, plates, cutlery - nothing, just cold seafood, - even though they knew they were delivering to a hotel. When I called to complain I was told they they lost my phone number, and had another delivery to do first. Also told that I had to ask for plates and even NAPKINS when ordering. No offer to bring the missing items , no offer of any refund, just a credit when I order next - so I can enjoy more cold food. Appalling customer service - I would advise against ordering from here.
Regarding the owner's response - it's true, they only charged for the cold food they delivered - but it wasn't the complete order. Perhaps the full order was lost, along with my phone number. The owner mentioned a computer crash when I called to inquire where the food was after waiting an hour and twenty minutes, I also heard they were very busy, and had other deliveries - Imagine, other deliveries for a restaurant that offers delivery service - who'd have thought! Regardless, the food was cold, the order took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive, and the owner seems only interested in blaming the customers rather than taking some initiative to improve service. Went out to the car and looked at the receipt and it said $39.65 (it showed a tip was added for $3.60 when I didnāt tip at all). Went back in to talk to the teenage worker, and complained letting the guy know that he added a tip without my knowledge. He tried to tell me that I must have pushed something by accident, but I didnāt even touch the machine (only tapped my card). I asked him, If he was adding unknown tips to all paying customers without their permission (which is stealing and illegal). He said again that I must have pushed a button (I would have had to push āyesā to a tip, ā% or $ā to the type of tip, then āyesā againā¦. without actually touching the machine. Asked to speak to the manager and was told that they wouldnāt be in until Friday, and when asked his name, he wouldnāt tell me.
