My apologies to Sunny and the whole crew that make Rainbow Studio & Cafe such an awesome place to be, for not conveying to the world sooner about how great this place really is!
Ever since my daughter was old enough to hold a Crayon to a piece of paper she has been completely absorbed in creating art. My wife and I have always tried to nurture her passion and inherent talent for art by having her participate in kids’ art classes and online tutorials. It wasn’t until she mentioned shortly after entering the first year of high school that she wants to somehow make a career out of her drive to create art. This is where the challenge began…to find a legitimate fine arts school that can teach youth real fine arts skills and, if they so choose, assist them in planning and preparing for an art-related career. After a lot of searching and a little hand-wringing I feel absolutely blessed that I found Rainbow Studio & Cafe in Oakville!
My daughter can be best described as an introvert who is happiest when she’s left alone in a quiet place to lose herself in creating art. As soon as we walked in to Sunny’s establishment she said she immediately felt at home there. She noted the chill music quietly playing in the background, the abundance of natural light pouring in the studio from two sides, the hushed chatter of students and facilitators and the remaining two walls full of artwork curated from students.
I like how everyone seemed “together” yet each student is engrossed in their own project, learning and creating at their own speed. Sunny, the studio’s owner and head instructor is very personable, energetic and encouraging. Everyone that I’ve dealt with at the studio is very much the same. My daughter also noted that she likes how Sunny seems to have an unwritten curriculum that she wants to take each student through, but understands that everyone is at a different spot in their journey and therefore tailors her teaching to each person. Rainbow Studio & Cafe also offers assistance in the development and production of portfolios for students looking to gain entrance into art-focused high schools, and fine arts programs in post-secondary institutions.
I feel relieved that I found, not only a place that my daughter feels very comfortable learning art in but also Sunny, who has taken a vested interest in my daughter’s development and who will help her achieve her career goals.
If you live within a commutable distance to the Rainbow Studio & Cafe, I strongly believe you owe it to your budding artist to visit and have a chat with Sunny...
Read moreOur experience at Rainbow Art Studio was incredibly disappointing. The atmosphere was negative and not at all supportive for young artists. The owner, Sunny, was unprofessional and did not provide proper instruction. Instead of fostering creativity and encouragement, the environment felt discouraging and unwelcoming. My daughter felt bullied rather than inspired, which is the opposite of what an art class should be. If you’re looking for a positive and nurturing place for your child to learn and grow in art, I would not recommend this studio. It was a waste of...
Read moreThis is one seriously cute cafe! I just walked in while I was passing by and I was surprised to find how spacious the inside was with many seatings with good desks (not one of those tiny ones) and with electric plug outlets available near the seats as well, which I find to be very rare in cafes these days. And I love the variety of drink and dessert/pastry options. I had taro bubble tea and macarons, and they were incredibly delicious, especially the macarons omg. 100% coming...
