Boardwalk Burgers- Oakville — Restaurant in Oakville

Was excited to try the new North Oakville Burger place located next to Popeyes in the Fortinos Plaza. Friday Lunch, we ordered an assortment of everything to give it a try. Onion Ring Burger combo with onion rings and chocolate milkshake. Mushroom Swiss Burger combo with fries and a fountain drink. Added a small gravy as well. Prices are high considering fairly small portion sizes. Upon ordering, they ask if you want to upgrade, combos to include sides such as fries, onion rings... soft drinks...milkshakes for an additional fee. They charged for 90 cents for whipped cream on the milkshake which I wasn't expecting. I would have said no thanks if I knew this was an up charge beforehand.

Cons... price, portion sizes, limited menu choices, no offerings of fresh free toppings such as tomatoes, lettuce, etc. Pros... good friendly service, not precooked, it was fresh and made to order. Food seemed less greasy than other burger joints.

Restaurant was clean but keep in mind place is still relatively new! Very basic burger place, basic fries, basic onion rings, basic milkshakes. I believe they are 100% Halal if this is a dietary requirement for some. I am a firm believer of..... you pay for what you get. All things considered, I felt the food was underwhelming considering price point. Food wasn't bad, it just wasn't great! This is not the only fresh never frozen burger place out there. Give it a try and decide...

There was only one person working and another was sitting in the dining area (I’m assuming she was on her break). We were the only people in the restaurant. We ordered 2 kids meals and 2 adult meals. It took over 40 mins to get our entire meal. The food was done fairly quickly but our milkshakes took 30 mins. I don’t think food should take this long. We were done our meals by the time the drinks came. The girl who was working also made my husbands burger incorrectly. She put pineapple on the bbq chicken burger. I ordered the Hawaiian one one and that one comes with pineapple. When my husband brought it to her attention she said “oh both come with it”. We corrected her and pointed to the description of the burger on the board. She double checked on her own instruction sheet and then realized the error. She also made a mistake with one of the milkshakes and had to remake the correct flavour which added even more tome. The food overall was ok. The milkshakes were good but we will likely not return because of the service. You can get better service at other burger joints and the price does not match the quality of the food. Also, she wore the same gloves the entire time- which included her checking her phone for recipes of the milkshakes.

First time trying Boardwalk Burgers and we LOVED it. The three of us dined in and in my party, we have 2 burger enthusiast’s:) The patties tasted fresh and very flavourful. Portions are good. We ordered the cheeseburger combo and the Boardwalk burger with the secret sauce, and a cookies and cream milkshake (it was delicious!). They have gluten free buns and vegetarian options as well - veggie burgers, veggie tenders. What I personally enjoyed was the service. The gentleman at the cash was so extremely courteous, helpful and nice as was the lady that brought our food. The staff here are wonderful. The restaurant itself was nice with plugs for charging devices or laptops, etc at all tables next to the walls … a nice touch. They also have a patio set up for a nice outdoor experience.
