Mario’s bbq Oakville — Restaurant in Oakville

Since I moved to Oakville from Brampton I've been looking for a good Portuguese Chicken place. As someone with Portuguese heritage myself, it's always hard to find a good place that serves the type of food I'm used to. My cousin told me about how the Mario's in Mississauga opened a new location in Oakville, so my wife and I had to check it out.

Located on Dundas, (and conveniently located across the street from the grocery store we frequent the most), this place is an instant must have again for me.

The service was outstanding. I didn't know what to get, but the young gentleman behind the counter recommended the full grilled chicken with 2 sides meal (I got Potatoes and Rice). The employee was helpful and was quick and attentive. Wonderful service.

As far as the food goes; the chicken was moist and tasty, with a nice smoky flavor. The sides were outstanding. The potatoes were among the best I've had from a Portuguese restaurant and while the rice wasn't as good as the potatoes, they were tasty and I'd get them again.

I recommend getting a bottle of their house sauce as well. It's absolutely unbelievable, and provides some nice heat with a pang of vinegar taste. It's superb.

While it might not taste as good as what Avo used to make (that's okay, nothing does), this establishment is an unbelievable gem and a must try for someone looking for incredible Portuguese food, with great service.

I will keep saying that Mario's Bbq Oakville is simply amazing and delicious.

When someone asks me if Mario's Bbq is good.... let me answer you this way. I live in Guelph, and Mario's Bbq Oakville is totally worth the drive.... that's how delicious it is.

Jimmy and his staff members never stopped to amazed me with their great service.

They simply demonstrate that they care.

Their food is simply delicious and well prepared with lots of great side options.

Fast and efficient service.

I was assisted by Jimmy, and he was super friendly, polite, and helpful as always.

For my family and I, it's totally worth the drive from Guelph to come and get this delicious and amazing food. Their bbq chicken has no competition.

This place fills a void in the Oakville Mississauga chicken eating’ community. Many chicken joints are subpar, lack flavour and authenticity. Here, Karen, Ethan and her loving family serve up an authentic Portuguese chicken, as well as fish fillets, cod cakes, salads, fried smelts and many other traditional favourites. Their thick and tasty Piri-piri is absolutely amazing. Buy a bottle, why not two. I was a little disappointed on Christmas Eve as they were not taking walk-in orders, and I had to go without delicious rotisserie chicken until later in the week - but it was worth the wait. I know I will be back again and again. Mr. Wolf gives this place 5 stars! My wife happens to be Portuguese and Mrs. Wolf also approves. You have to call and place your order in advance, this is a busy place for the holidays, I know why, ‘cause it’s freaking good!
