Food is good but left with bad feelings. I specifically asked the server if the price for my order was $10.99 for the 2-topping vermicelli plate with chicken & shrimp. She said yes. The plate came with a chicken breast & ONE over cooked prawn. So that’s ok. it’s not a Michelin Star restaurant or pricing after all. Then when I got the bill, she had the gall to add a surcharge of $3. for that one lousy overcooked rubber prawn after I specifically asked after placing my order: is this the 2-topping vermicelli plate price of $10.99? I told her she never told me about the extra charge for 1 rubber prawn . She said it’s on the menu (it’s at the bottom in small print, dark background very hard to see in a dimlit restaurant). I told her that she told me it was $10.99 & never said anything about the extra $3. If I had known, I would’ve chosen a different 2nd topping as that one lousy rubber prawn wasn’t worth anything extra. Beware read the fine print - check the order price before the end. Sneaky. Flavour lacking .... I had to add some garlic sauce (jar on table) & chili sauce & poured the whole bowl of sweet vinegar / water sauce . Too bad. Nice location near Oakville hospital & Fortino’s. To add insult to injury, no soap in the odd-shaped...
Read moreI feel bad for leaving a bad review, but I decided to write it to help the restaurant improve.
I love pho, so I wanted to try this place since it’s near my home. I ordered pho and curry for my family through Uber Eats on Monday and picked it up myself. Even though I hadn’t opened the food yet, it smelled a bit off. I’ve been to many pho restaurants, and I've never had food that smelled a bit off. My mom noticed the smell was a bit off and decided not to eat it. My brother doesn’t like curry, so I was the only one who ate it. Since I knew I wouldn’t be able to finish all the food at once, I separated the portion I was going to eat right after opening it and put the rest straight into the fridge. That first day, after eating the curry, I got a stomachache. I had only had an iced coffee and one slice of pizza before that, so I didn’t think the curry was the cause at first. But the next day, I ate the leftover curry that I had refrigerated immediately after opening, and that’s when I realized the curry was what gave me stomach issues. I’ve been to many pho restaurants. The pho here was reasonably priced, but the curry I ordered was a bit pricey. The calamari was overcooked and turned out...
Read moreI usually love eating at Vietnamese restaurants and feel safe doing so as someone with celiac disease. Most places understand the condition and take great care. Unfortunately, that was not the case here.
When I ordered, the first server didn’t understand me, so the manager came over. She reassured me that she knew exactly what celiac disease was and suggested a vegetarian pho with chicken broth instead of veggie broth, since the veggie version contained soy sauce. She promised me 100% that my meal would be gluten-free.
Trusting her, I ate the dish. About an hour and a half later, I had one of the worst celiac attacks I’ve experienced. I ended up in the hospital, severely dehydrated and weak. This wasn’t just discomfort — it was a medical emergency.
I cannot believe a restaurant can make such a mistake when someone’s health is at stake. For people with celiac disease, this isn’t a preference. Please, if you have gluten-related conditions, be extremely...
