I went here on a high recommendation from a friend who works nearby. It's a cute store with enough seats for a dozen.
They serve delicious pastries (croissants with modern flavors like the Crookie I ordered, plus cakes and pies), sandwiches and both coffee and tea as well as refreshing coolers.
Interior is nice, minimalist and modern with a few mid-century modern touches. Very nice.
Price is reasonable. Their crookie (croissant cookie) is a bit cheaper than the croissant chain, Hazukido. Their crookie is generously portioned, the croissant is above average in size, and with cookies well spread across and inside, it was worth it. Plus I enjoyed it even better heated in their oven. 😋
The brown sugar latte my wife ordered is excellent and well flavored and with the right sweetness... you can taste those brown sugar molasses. I tried the lotus (biscoff) cream latte but I feel it lacked the biscoff taste in the latte so they should perhaps add cookie butter syrup or use a powder to enhance the flavor.
Being the only orders at the time of our visit, I feel they could have been 3 to 5 minutes faster. They took about 10 minutes to serve the drinks along with the croissant.
Also was turned off by them not allowing my tiny dog inside her crate. I know it's their prerogative, but when Starbucks allows it, I don't know why they wouldn't. They even put a dog water bowl outside so I thought they were friendly. -1 for that and the longer than normal wait for the drinks. It kinda ruined my mood and wanting to hang out was not an option.
If you don't bring your dog or don't have one, hang out here. Highly recommended coffee, tea and dessert place. The owners and staff are Korean...
Read moreThis might just be the best cafe in the GTA. You can tell there's a lot of thought and love that goes into what they make. The pistachio croissant, for example. It tastes like they're roasted them and added cardamom that man's it such a pleasant experience.
The flat croissant, has similar texture to a liege waffle with the croissant crisp at parts and hint of salt that brightens up the pastry.
Loved the latte as well! Wasn't too bitter, milk was warmed to the right temp, and it tasted clean.
Also love how they've gently blended in a bit of Korean bakery aspects with European pastries. Instead of the usual clumsy fusion based on hype most places end up with where things end up disjointed, the folks here take careful attention to each thing they do to create things where one can enjoy their craft.
Can't go into everything we've tried as it would get very long but everything was fantastic.
Wonderful team working behind the counter and they were very sweet. When we ordered a hot chocolate to go after having ate there, she asked if it's for the kids so she could make it less scorching hot.
Just can't beat that!~ can't go anywhere else anymore. We're coming here from now on. Just wish they were open on Sundays and weekday evenings but also wouldn't want them to be burnt out. Not easy running a store. Thank you very much for doing...
Read moreI had a terrible experience with Bake On and Uber Eats today — one that feels like nothing short of a scam. I placed an order for a $5 latte, but was suddenly charged $16 after clicking “confirm.” There was no clear warning or breakdown of this ridiculous price, and when I realized the issue, the app wouldn’t let me cancel — conveniently, the order was already “on the way” within seconds.
I waited 45 minutes, even though the app said the driver had already picked up my order. No sign of it ever arriving. After desperately navigating the confusing Uber Eats app, I finally reached a chatbot that canceled the order — but didn’t refund me.
I called Bake On directly. They put me on hold and never came back. When I finally got through, they told me they couldn’t refund me and that I should contact Uber Eats, who supposedly would. Of course, Uber Eats has no real customer service — no phone number, no human support, just dead ends.
At the end of it all, neither Bake On nor Uber Eats refunded my money. I paid $16 for absolutely nothing. This feels like a coordinated effort to steal money from customers, and I’m shocked that businesses can operate like this without any accountability. Shame on you, Bake On...
