I love Sephora and every other location I've shopped in (including US stores), has been a good experience (even when they were very busy). But, the twenty minutes I spent in the Red Deer store was very frustrating. Except for the cashier, the staff (who outnumbered customers), were unnwelcoming and unapproachable. I made eye contact with 4 different clerks but each quickly looked away and then, walked away. I noted 3 other customers receiving the same treatment. One young woman was going to leave but her friend insisted on talking to the cashier who was very helpful to them and as result made the sale. Witnessing this, I also stood in line to get assistance from the cashier and then again when I was ready to pay for my items. Even when there were line-ups, the other staff (who were not with customers), did not assist the lone cashier. Two of the staff spent the entire time that I was there whispering and giggling with their backs turned to the store (except for the 5 minutes or so that they went to the back room and closed the door). I save money, get great samples and never pay shipping when shopping Sephora online and, I've never waited more than 3 days for an order to arrive at my door or that of a person I sent a gift to. But, I like to go into the stores to get advice from the staff on trends and suggestions when I'm buying for myself, my 3 daughters and 2 teenage granddaughters. With the convenience of online shopping, the only reason to go to a retail location is to enjoy a positive experience handling and smelling the products and, feeling engaged by the staff. After leaving the Sephora store, I felt very disappointed. Only until I went to Bath & Body Works store though. There, I was greeted upon entering by a clerk who at different times, engaged other friendly clerks to assist me in finding exactly what I wanted. I should also note that customers there outnumbered staff but none were ignored. This is the kind of service and experience that I've always counted on receiving at Bath & Body Works and until yesterday, Sephora. I'm not saying I won't go back to the Red Deer location but, if I have another negative experience, I will limit my shopping to the stores I know will welcome me and when...
Read moreMost of my experiences here have been great! The majority of the girls are wonderful to interact with. Unfortunately today I was pretty disappointed with the service. Due to COVID, samples are currently not available to be requested. I have sensitive, reactive, acne prone skin so finding something that gets along with it as well as matches my skin tone (very fair) can be difficult. The last few products I’d purchased were recommended to me and I was ‘colour matched’ in store; upon using the products they either oxidized or didn’t get on well with my skincare products or skin in general. Fair, not all products will work! However, it is to my understanding that it isn’t an employees job to police people doing returns. I was told she could provide a store credit only (no return which is fine), and she went on to highlight that this is “the fourth product we will be throwing out” - this doesn’t come out of your paycheck and I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable with her reaction. I give the products a good few days of wear (if the colour match wasn’t horribly off) and if the product doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. I’m not going to keep a product at home that I won’t ever use. Perhaps she was having an off day, but I do believe she could use a refresher in her training on how to interact with others. I accepted the store credit, apologized and explained the issue, she snapped back several times about us now being able to swatch on skin - cool, but how am I able to then take that home and test is for a few days? I’m not. Hopefully my next experience with her is a...

I will be opening a fraud case against them and if I don’t received my money I will be taking legal actions against them. Also train your staffs to treat everyone equally and not look down on anyone their attitude towards me has been so disturbing and I’m begging to think...
